Cards that you let out of the PC vault?

I've recently become more aggressive about simplifying my PC. As a result I've decided to reach deeper and move cards that I always thought would be locked away in the PC. Some of them I'm moving because the value is up, others because I no longer enjoy them. I'm interested to see what cards others have moved in from and why. Please only post cards that you no longer have. Not cards that you might move. I don't want this to become a rolling advertisement.

I'll start. Sold this one today. It was the first PC card I decided to move because I knew it would be an easy sale.

Definitely understand the feeling OP. I moved a baseball card recently I thought would be hardcore PC, the price and the timing was worth it. It is my 2017 resolution to simplify my PC and start the slow liquidation of most of my PC. I raided my safety deposit box and thus made it lighter in the process. I don't flinch moving older PC cards and I'm hoping the building of a more focused PC will be a reward and not regret.

I've been doing this too. It does have a lot to do with value going up for me. I love my PC, and I've told myself I wouldn't get rid of these, but if I can downsize the PC and make some good money to pay/save for other life events than I see that as a good thing

Recently I've been going back to my set collecting, focusing on my 2 player PCs and trying to land Prizm gold RCs. The rest will be moved during the course of this year.

No Pictures but I got rid of a bunch of my Ben Wallace PC cards I had had for years, Decided to limit what I collect to on card Autos only, no Jersey/Patches and just kept Patch autos from nice sets I have less than 10 Big Ben cards now. Trimmed my overall PC from about 50 cards down to 15 only keeping 1-2 cards from my side PC's. let a lot of cards go i didn't think I would when I first got them.

lol I definitely have a lot. I don't know how many I sent you but I I once had seven three-row boxes filled with cards that were in these types of holders...but that was my entire collection. Now, I have sold off about 1/4 if my collection but still have the holders.

I know that financial situations can change on a moment's notice, but at this point I have been fortunate that I did not have to get rid of any cards because of an immediate need. I have sold/traded cards of players I pc in order to obtain others, but nothing of significant value or rarity. Mostly inserts, parallels, non-auto, non-jersey stuff,etc...I had the beginnings of a Giannis collection going for a while but lost interest. The best cards I had of his was a RWB Prizm and a Hoops Rookie Remembrance 2 color Prime Patch/25. I traded both and I think the trade value was around $15. I'm guessing that may be a bit different if I was trading today! LOL!

yeeesh, that hurts, Westbrook especially. I would say Chamberlain too but I think you can let that go. I don't like non pack pulled auto. Would rather just his rookie despite the extreme rarity.

Having said this, finally made a huge trade with smalltown :) giving up the aforementioned that really hurt. Happy its going to a good home tho! and extreme PC is coming the other way. I am sure he could post here as well what he gave up but either way I am sure we will both post the results :D

You strike me as the type of collector that moves on from stuff quick and none of these cards were really "PC". They are just cards that you can say you owned. Am I right?

Probably the case with the giannis cards. And I was ready to move AD. The Westbrook, I needed cash, but intended to keep it longer. The wilt and the kobe were the really tough ones. In both cases, the buyer reached out to me. I never listed them. I saw that in each of those cases their collections needed the card more than I did. For me, the wilt is truly one of the coolest items you could ever own in this hobby. And I put together my own "build a case" of eminence, which the kobe was obviously once of the cornerstones of. I had no intent of moving either of those.

im definitley one of those collectors, im more of a flipper than anything really. But i never ask people for deals because "i collect this guy" and 27guy doesnt strike me like this type either. Besides that "i collect this guy" has never been something that swayed me when selling a card. if someone used that line on me and someone else random offers me $5 more....guess which guy im selling it to, unless of course we have a rapport where im likely to give you a break, but i keep my inner circle in that regards limited.

okay i'll contribute. This is far and away the most valuable card in my collection. It has pretty much everything going for it (low numbered, high-end product, BGS 9) except of course that sticker auto. I've been shopping it in potential trades for an MJ buyback auto to try and get a more 90s MJ autographed card if possible, so any help is appreciated!

Yeah I hear you mention the Wilt quite a bit, I think you miss that one the most. Hope you can add it back someday. I haven't sold anything that I truly regret yet but sure it will happen sometime. It's just a part of the hobby.

One fun part of moving through the PC to find cards for sale is the ones I forgot about. The bad part is finding the ones that you bought at the prime value and now have dropped. My Sullinger collection is not nearly as cool as it was in 2013!

But sadly I don't make enough money that I can seperate my life needs and my collection, so whenever I needed money, I sell my cards.

And I believe most of you know, your inserts , low-end jersey cards, star and semistar autos...which means cards under $1~200 values never are easily sold and can help you immediately, so most of the time I sell my PC.

I have been through 4 incidents that I desperately need to sell my PC, and here's everything I sold, and since I don't have photos for every single cards, I'll just list the one I still remember.

For those who ever helped me through hard times, I thank you for buying my PC , and I wish you enjoyed the cards and kept them well.

Stevenhsu. You have great taste! Impressive to have even owned those cards at some point. My favorite in the is the TD auto. That card is stunning. I understand completely the issue with needing to move cards and realizing only the higher end stuff has immediate value. So true.

Thanks man, I believe most of these cards catches many people's interest,
these are just about half of my PC I've sold throughout these years. Every each of them were once cards that I thought I'll never let go.

But who knows, life changes, my little girl spends a lot of money , since my wife don't work anymore and I didn't invest in anything else such as stocks, the best way to get cash is selling Cards.

I'm sharing to ease the pain in all's heart when they've let go something that they never intend to , I'm with y'all .But however, we all get back what we need in return.:)!


Stevenhsu. You have great taste! Impressive to have even owned those cards at some point. My favorite in the is the TD auto. That card is stunning. I understand completely the issue with needing to move cards and realizing only the higher end stuff has immediate value. So true.
