If he gets the call this year he'll be a reliever for life. My guess is the Sox spend the next two years trying to stretch him out. The only way he gets a cup before 2019 is if the White Sox give up on him being a starter.

Wasting your money buying the next Kyle Farnsworth...

I've seen two Kopech starts. One was amazing because he simply could not find the plate. Guys only swung because they were tired of taking balls and wanted to prove they could hit 100.
The other time his command was on and he looked dominant.
He seems like a nice kid, but a bit of an interesting character. Probably better for him he won't be in Boston.

I agree control could be his biggest challenge. If he figures it out, holy crap he's going to be good.
Although, walks won't be too bad if nobody can hit the ball to knock them in. There was another guy who walked a ton and struck out a ton. I think he's the all-time leader in both categories. What was his name again?

I think Tellez should be higher. He's got a great hit tool with some pop and showed it in AA. Can't wait to see him in the bigs. To be fair, he's a local boy and I coached his nephew so I am a little biased.

He looks so much like David Ortiz up there. Almost the same swing, very similar body. I don't think he'll be as good as Ortiz (really going out on a limb) but it is hard to watch him and not think of Papi

What MiLB level is Vlad Jr going to play at in '17? I am thinking he isn't ready for Hi-A, but they probably don't want to start him off in the cold weather Midwest League. Extended ST + Northwest League?

I'm glad they covered Kevin Maitan on MLB Network just now. I know he's only 16 until Feb. 12, but his swing looks so advanced. Anytime they throw around names like Miguel Cabrera and Chipper Jones as a ceiling it makes me excited to see what the kid can really do against real competition this year.
I hope he gets a Bowman Chrome card this year. I have one EEE sticker Auto, but a nice Chrome in a Braves uniform would be great.

Agree, hence me trying to buy his stuff:)
This also is the reason why Mateo not being on the list is laughable. They were basically in the exact same league until Mateo's locker room incident and then he had an awful season from there. You don't just lose ability in half a season lol. Rosario #4, Mateo doesn't make the list? Come on.
Not true, Torres is a pretty fair bet not to stick at SS, also hitting in the AFL is grossly overrated...
He's the least likely to stay at short though. Rosario probably the best glove of the 3.
Well KLaw has a 1B in his top 6 so I don't care whether he stays at SS or moves to 3B or w/e as far as his ceiling or list ranking. And my thoughts on Torres have nothing to do with the AFL. As a prospect guy and Yankee fan I know what his bat brings and he's very young. He wasn't the top Cubs prospect by accident.

Come on.
Its moreso that Rosario's ability to hit jumped several levels, and he's always been better defensively. Mateo currently has no real position, so he'll likely head to the OF, if he can stick in CF he could regain some value, but his bat was also pretty bad last year. He's stil a back-end top 100 guy to me because he's still young and still has tools, he's not done much to improve those into skills though, and Rosario has by a lot.
