I've got an influx of extra cash coming in soon and I want to buy a few high end LeBron/Jordan cards but was curious as to what time of year you prefer to pull the trigger. Think it's worth it to wait until the offseason when there's less attention on the NBA to try and get a better deal? Or with LeBron/Jordan does it even matter?

Conversely if I'm holding on to cards of guys like Kawhi and Harden should I look to sell during the upcoming playoffs? If Harden wins MVP and can win the opening round series that seems like a good time to sell. Thoughts?

Offseason almost always presents the best prices. Out of sight, out of mind.

Around July and August are when people start focusing money and attention into football as well as baseball.

If you're sure the players you're holding are going to be locked into a playoff spot, my general view is to unload them about a week or so before playoffs start unless you're already looking to profit big and don't mind letting it ride and possibly taking a small dip. But you can generally ignore these rules unless the players are on the Warriors or Cavaliers.

Off season is great for current players. But I find now is the best time for Jordan while everyone else is focusing on the hyped guys.

At the same time, I like when my PC guys are playing well in the hope some rare cards turn up.

That makes sense. When I said guys like Harden and Kawhi I meant Harden and Kawhi lol. So basically if I want to gamble that one of those two go crazy and somehow takeout the Dubs I wait, otherwise before playoffs. Got it.

Even the 86 Fleer? It definitely makes sense to wait on Bron, especially if the cavs don't win it all.

Jordan rookies are down in price since the off season. Read in to that however you'd like.

this is solid. I would also add in right before the Holidays when people are fixed on buying electronics and other items for Christmas that many deals can be had.
