PSA Re-encapsulation Question

I have quite a few PSA cards I am looking to reholder into the New Embedded Hologram cases

If you do this does the card keep its original serial number or does PSA designate a new serial number

I would think they keep the original serial number to skew the population reports, but I am not sure

Does anyone have any experience with this?

Yeah, I did this I think it was last year and they keep the original serial numbers.
