Just received an email from COMC about an update for sellers.

Hello,

Due to our increasing volume of consignment submissions, COMC is making an adjustment to how negative Store Credit balances are handled.

In the past, a loophole existed that allowed items to be deposited into accounts with insufficient Store Credit to cover the processing fees, causing accounts to "go negative". We never intended for sellers to carry a negative balance in order to process items, and in the coming weeks we will be adjust our systems to ensure accounts with insufficient store credit will no longer have cards deposited.

After we implement the new system, we will check Store Credit balances prior to deposit. Each night, we will attempt to deposit your pending items. If your Store Credit balance does not cover the fees due for that deposit:

1.Your Store Credit balance will go negative to cover the processing fees due for that deposit.

2.All items in the deposit will be placed on hold until your Store Credit balance is positive.

3.The due dates of all of your pending processing transactions will be moved forward one day.

We understand this will be an adjustment for some sellers who have relied upon the ability of their account to become negative, but we're confident your cooperation will enable us to provide faster processing times and continue to keep COMC the safe and easy way to buy and sell.

Thanks for doing business with us.

sounds good to me. your 5k card submission is what 2 weeks pay for that guy or gal scanning and identifying your cards? I wouldn't want to work for free doing that job

not sure how they are going to handle when you don't have a balance and don't have PP to cover it. that is holding cards hostage huh?

they may want to reword or specify what they mean by deposit to your account.

does that mean they "add" them as a submission to start but won't do anything or will that mean they are going to work them but not make them available until you have the $ to cover.

I'm not understanding the last sentence of paragraph number 1 with option number 1 of things that will happen. They state they will no longer deposit cards into an account with insufficient funds but number 1 of 3 things that will happen says cards will be deposited and balance will go negative.

Am I just reading this wrong or does that sound contradicting?

I beleive they are saying your balance will go negative for items they have ready to deposit that night, basically if they have them ready to deposit and are putting 100 cards in your account & your account only has $5, it will go to negative -$20 and the cards will be deposited into your account. These 100 cards will be placed on hold and you cannot list/price them until your account balance is positive. Then for any remaining cards from that batch you have processing the due date will be pushed back one day for each day your balance is negative until you deposit enough funds to put your account positive again.....then they will do the same thing over and over until enough funds are placed in your account to cover each card deposit as they become ready.

Oh ok. That will kick people into gear to get their accounts straitened out. I also wonder if that will weed out some of the people they may only use them one time to send in junk and never log in again so their accounts never get back to the positive range. Once they hear they have to have the money up front they may never use them

This seems like a positive development.

Since the somewhat increase in wait times maybe we should go back to the old way.

The uptick is based on lack of manning due to Coronavirus. Not sure why letting users carry debts and still get work performed is good for anyone.

They were having issues getting subs done on time well before the virus came into play. There were 30 day subs from November that were stretching into March. I had one I sent in December was not finished til Mid April. COVID was a blessing for them it gave them a perfect excuse to hide their issues for the time being.
