To Bust or not to Bust?? (2006 National Treasures) [Archive]

So I was lucky enough to pick up one of the 2006 National Treasures boxes for the black Friday special at $199 per box. Question: Will I make more money re-selling the sealed box on Ebay (lets say around $280), or busting the box and selling the singles? I'm not too familiar with 2006 Treasures since I was taking a break from the Hobby during that period of time, so any help would be appreciated!

You aren't going to make money ripping it without a pretty big hit. Beware though if you sell a single random box there are some dirtbag ebayers that may SNAD you if they are not happy with the contents. Good luck.

"SNAD"...not familiar with that term. Does it refer to someone accusing you of re-sealing a box and selling it?

Significantly Not As Described. Then they send you back a bunch of base cards or something.

I'd say bust it .. Some prettyy good HOFs and you can possibly get some good rookies.

Not too sure about the 2006 rookie class...seems a bit weak, probably the worst in the past 5 years. HOFers do look promising though...I'd also be dealing with the irresistible urge to bust some high-end so it may be hard not too!

i got some boxes of this as well, but in the case variety.. and by case i mean multiple cases, and by multiple cases, i mean 2. Im stoked to get it. and i will need some buyers. lol

If your goal is to make money, put the sealed box on ebay. No question. even if you do only get 280, thats 80 profit for no work at all.

If you decide to bust, you have a 10% chance to make your money back, or close to it. a 5% chance to make money (and it wont be much). or a 85% chance of losing your a$$

2006 turned out to be an absolutely DREADFUL class.... let some other sucker take the blow for you

Can you get 280 for a box on ebay? Im thinking mayeb 230 at best, then between shipping and fees you wont make much if anything.

I'd definitely say break that sucker open! I've busted one box of this stuff in my life...and was very happy as I got a nice PC card out of it. One that would sell for a decent price, but refuse to sell. lol.

If you hit any 06 NT HOF Greatness Auto/GU or Charter Class Cuts, I'm certainly interested! lol

this was damn good :)!

and i agree with others, bust it. i doubt you could sell for $280 online anyway and if ya did, like those guys said, you run the risk of getting a complaint or negative feedback. i got a neutral one time for that reason.

one of the best modern products to ever be produced. This stuff came out at around $500 a box back in 2006. For under $200 I'd bust this thing all day. :)

You gotta bust it. I picked up a couple boxes 2+ years ago when the normal price was in the $175-200 range then it skyrocketed for awhile....IMO 06 Natty Treasures is one of the best products of all time. Beautiful card design. Let me know if you pull any Bledsoe's!

Well, to answer your specific question, if your goal is to make $$$, the you'd probably be better off selling the box rather than breaking it.
