Smartest thing to do, but I don't see it that way.

I don't see a huge drop-off overall between Williams and Brewer, long-term. I think the pick was the obvious reason behind the trade from the Lakers standpoint, and I love the trade.

I honestly think that Magic is going to do very well, because of his business history. I just believe in what he represents, and I think he's going to put some very good people around him, and I think the Lakers will be on a faster track to a top-tier team with Magic at the helm.

Pretty smart trade by LA IMO. Williams was their best player, Brewer kinda sucks and they can go full tank to try to keep the pick. And they get an extra pick on top.

Looking at the standings, I'd say the Lakers will finish with the 2nd worst record ahead of the Nets. They better hope they get lucky with the draft...
