CORRECTION, THERE ARE FIVE

Vince Carter (#5 in 1998), Dirk Nowitzki (#9 in 1998), Paul Pierce (#10 in 1998), Jason Terry (#10 in 1999) and Metta World Peace (#16 in 1999). Technically that makes Vince the longest-tenured NBA player by 20 minutes. Who will be the very last 90s player left in the NBA? My guess is Dirk.

The last active 80s player was Clifford Robinson (1989-2007).

The last active 70s player was Robert Parish (1977-1997).

The last active 60s player was Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (1969-1989).

The last active 50s player was Dick Barnett (1959-1974).

The last active 40s player was Dolph Schayes (1949-1964).

Didn't realize that cliff Robinson beat Kevin Willis.

Absolutely crazy to think that there are only a few guys from the 90s left.

Metta as well

Aha, you're right. I was working off an old version of the list of 90s players and I took him off when he sat out the 14-15 season. Forgot to reinstate him.

I wouldn't be surprised if Dirk hung it up after this year but Vince has repetitively said he will play as long as his body lets him because he loves to ball!

. With the Lakers as sorry as they are, you may see KAJ riding at the end of the bench. Seems like Juwan Howard should still be soaking some team dry on their bench.

I just read where Dirk said he's probably coming back...has one contracted year left and will join the 20 years with same team club

I dunno if Manu technically counts..he was drafted in 99 and had played international ball for a few years before that..he didn't come over to the NBA until the 2002 season though.

Anyways all I know is that this list makes me feel VERY old lol. I remember just starting high school and these guys were the "hot new rookies" out there. Crazy to think almost 20 years have passed

I'd say Vince will be the last one. Dirk has said he's hoping his body holds up for one more season and will assess at the end of this one. Metta will be done this time round and I'm finding it hard to see more suitors for Terry next season. With Vince still having an impact in Memphis he could keep going, but then again him and dirk could finish up together at the end of next season.

I agree that Manu should be considered for this list.
But I can Vince and Dirk going past even next year.

My guess is Dirk as well. Any rumors on when he is gonna bow out?

Yes he's said after his 20th season which would be next year, unless his body breaks down before the end of this year.

Recently said that he wants to play one more year.

Manu didn't actually play in the NBA on or before 11:59:59 p.m. on December 31st, 1999.

Not a chance. He's playing almost 24mpg with a smile on his face most of the time. He said in an interview in Toronto earlier this year that he'll play as long as there's a team that will have him. The interviewer pressed him on "how long" that would be and he answered(paraphrasing here as i can't find a transcript) "till i'm 50... 60... 41... all depends on the GMs, they'll let me know when i've got nothing left to give."

I can see Vince going a couple more years if he's on a team that contends and is able to keep his minutes down.

I am going with Dirk, barring injury he has another season and 20 years on one team is a serious accomplishment.

We were all lucky to watch Vince and Dirk. Vince greatest dunker ever.

My guess is Vince. He seems to love the role of a bench guy and just enjoy being in the league and he has been pretty healthy and even athletic at times.
