Well, this was a pretty special mailday, even if the player was a complete scrub. As many of you here know, I'm quite the 90's rookie parallel collector with literally nearly 100 rookie parallel sets being completed at once. This was one that took 5 years to finally complete. The last piece being John Thierry, who I finally tracked down from a member on Beckett Exchange who happened to have one. I made it worth his while to pull it for me, too.
The Electric Golds were inserted one per hobby box and some ended up making it into special retail packs. They can be a bit hard to distinguish from the much more common Electric Silver cards since both have prismatic "Electric" logos, but the Electric Gold cards for the rookie subset also feature a prismatic rookie logo in the lower left corner and a prismatic Upper Deck logo in the upper left corner. Below is the complete rookie set.

Actually, John Thiery was a decent player. Nothing special, but not a scrub.

Congratulations. These bring back memories. I like the Bucky Brooks. NFL analyst, lol. True story, he actually had the entire name Bucky brooks on the back of his jersey. Deion sanders was joking about it one day when they were showing film. Hilarious

It's always fulfilling when putting together a set "rookies" from over 20 years ago where the possibility diminishes greatly but through perseverance the completion is attained.
Greg, there are very few members who put in the effort that you have. That is why so many people check when you update your thread. Great job and I'm sure more will be completed, hope the same for Jeff on his Vols, Eric on his Elite Iowa, Tim on Senecca Wallace, and many others.
Just because some collectors "members" refuse to trade or sell to others at this moment, doesn't necessarily mean that they do not want other members to be successful. You have to remember, we are all collectors and it can be difficult letting go "hoarding", of some players or cards. Sometimes it's timing.

Thanks for the kind words, guys! This was one of my favorite sets to work on from the era and quite a challenge. It felt good to close out the final piece and share the experience here!

Beautiful set, with some names I haven't heard in a while! My favorite is the Johnnie Morton and the lustful look on his face, haha.

Congrats on finishing that one. I almost see you as a card collecting Indiana Jones type scouring the Earth for these lost gems.

Thanks! Indeed, there are many other sets to tend to. Always a work in progress.

Haha, these truly are historical artifacts to some of us! I like the Indiana reference, too. Sometimes it's easy to get lost in my own museum, too. :D

Thanks, Eric! In my 90's parallel thread, I've been able to close out a few sets here and there, but this one ranks way up there as far as gratification is concerned. The last few cards I needed were quite tough to find. Had to search under pretty much every rock and, like Dolphinsdude said, almost scour every resource out there to find that someone actually had that last piece. It's so much fun chasing, but also quite enjoyable to finish.

Yeah, some of the guys from those 90's sets really didn't pan out too well. I also had high hopes for Trev Alberts and that was an total bust for Indy. To think Indy could have bolstered the front seven with a beast like Bryant Young or Sam Adams is a bit painful to look at considering they were both picked right after Alberts. Ugh.
