Despite not having hit the "whammy," I'm not unhappy. Highlights:

Nice Eaton!

That was pretty solid. I'm interested in that Eaton but no where near your eBay asking price If the price comes down let me know, I have been the high bidder on all his immaculate and donruss 1/1 autos.

Congrats on the great hits.

If you're looking to sell, I'd be interested in a price on the Tomlin auto and Jose Ramirez.

Nice stuff - I did well in my breaks too.

If selling, I'm interested in the Rod Carew auto, Ryne Sandberg bat and Kris Bryant Gold All-Stars - Also let me know if you have extras - I am trying to complete the master set and only need 18 more cards, thanks

Thanks. Surprised you commented on my price publicly instead of PMing me, but since you went that route I'll address it here:

First, it's a b/o listing on a new card that's extremely rare, so it's inflated (which I fully acknowledge) just to test waters. In no hurry and for anything this rare (especially when it's the only one out there) I typically list it as such for the first few days and just let folks offer strongly if they feel so inclined (and they do so often enough on these items that, as a powerseller for 12 years, I haven't changed my practice).

Second, exactly how low were you hoping to pay for an autograph of your favorite player that is numbered to only 3? Eaton's no Kris Bryant, but even the 1/1 Transcendent non-autos from the party packs (did you buy those?) went for $25, which is twice as much as most guys went for.

Third, can you please provide links to any of these 1/1 auto auctions of Eaton to which you refer? Maybe I somehow missed it but it looks like there's nothing like that out there now and I can't find any history of them. I'm familiar w/what's available for Eaton now, and didn't see any better cards this rare of him available anywhere.

Sorry I'm so late in getting back. Looks like you were offended, I apologize.

I could not find the links, however I'm sure members here can help us out with Worthpoint. I have made aggressive offers and acquired all the party pack cards. I like the look of them, and they in my opinion will become good conversation items in the future.

Anyhow, I know personally when I don't know a market for a player if someone points me in the right direction I am more thankful then angry. Fact is, the card was priced higher then I paid for Eatons Finest Patch auto Super, his base Bowman Super, his Red Refractor Bowman Autos and his Pink Topps chrome auto. I didn't expect you to be so offended and again I apologize.

Again, someone can feel free to check worth point on these below.

The prizm is the only one that sold for over $30.

Looks like you sold it off line, if you got anything higher then $20, pat yourself on the back, you did very well. Have a great day!

I appreciate the apology, but for a 2nd time you did exactly what (perhaps you don't even realize) you just apologized for.

It's not like I was hopping mad or anything; I just regard it as poor form to talk all about price when this was a box break thread and I had never even advertised the card for sale here. That's when it behooves you to make good use of "private message." As stated, the card was quite obviously set at a high price on the bay that I never expected to get, but I always give player collectors the chance to make an offer before I make the decision to aggressively decide to sell something.

About your decision to bring up price again here, your assumption that I must have sold the card and your (I'm guessing?) attempt to either devalue the card or declare yourself to be the ultimate authority on its value:

1.) I took it off of ebay because I'm either selling it at a lower BIN or including it in the huge Donruss lot I plan to sell when I have the time.

2.) I was offered $35 by another member, and I'm sure you know which one. Evidently you don't know quite as much about this market as you'd thought. Anyway, I would "pat myself on the back," as you suggest, but I didn't take that fair offer. It's still a small enough sum that I plan to give it one last ditch effort at a much lower BIN and if that's not hit after a couple days then it will go into the big Donruss lot (exactly like I sold last year, except this one will include the autos) along with the Glavine /5, Brooks Robinson/99, etc.

Am I losing a few bucks on how I do all of this buying and selling? Absolutely. But my time is FAR more important than all of this small time cash, and that's always ALWAYS my priority. I break for fun. I break because I enjoy it. It's not to sell for profit, and I'm never scrambling to make my cash back. So if I sell autographed singles that are numbered this low, they're going for a good price or they're going toward helping to sell a large lot. Anyway, I hope that helps put things into context for you.

Donruss has been pretty awesome this year. Again I won't go back and forth in a petty argument, all it takes is a simple search to see some of the Eaton cards I own so I don't have to validate my knowledge my post here speak for themselves. The other eaton collection is very nice and if she offered you $35 thats a very solid deal as she is well aware what those 1/1's sold for.

Good luck!
