I'm a huge Eddie Royal Collector, I have over 90 auto's from him but I haven't seen one like this before. I saw this 2008 SP Authentic Patch Auto listed on eBay. My problem is I've never seen a patch with the horse logo on it. Did they use different jersey's at the premier then the regular on field ones? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I am going with fake. The Broncos dont have a Broncos head on the jersey at all. People who try and fake Broncos patches always use the head but they dont have one on the jersey. It would be awesome if it was real but its highly unlikely. I just sent a message asking the origin of the card.

That's what I was going with, I've seen some Bronco Jersey's with the head on the back but they're the youth ones. I still need that Royal TTT auto from you. lol.

I would say fake also. Not saying it is impossible but it is pretty hard to find a patch like that on a card that is numbered /999.

Thanks for the inputs, I know that there isn't a Bronco logo on any jersey's. I just wanted to make sure that they didn't wear any other type of jersey at the rookie premier.

I think you almost have to film every break you do just to prove the cards legit!? Pretty soon a video clip with the card being pulled will increase the value x2!?

100% fake. Look at the color of the patch, it's offcolor from the color of the jersey, the blue and orange are too bright

Is it possible they used the logo off a hat he wore at the RP?

Well they do use throwback jerseys at the premier (I'm not saying this is real or fake)...are there any similar patches on ebay like this one?

I've been collecting Royal since he came out and I also check eBay daily for new cards. I've never seen another patch card with even part of the Bronco logo on it. I just didn't know if they did something special at the premier.

Even if they did the Broncos have never had the iron horse head on any of their jerseys. Plus that logo itself has only been around for 12 years so thats not much of a throwback. They did not use any hats in this set, the card is marked jersey right on it. This is as fake as it gets.
Ladies and Gentlemen, If you see any Bronco heads, sewn patch material 49ers logos, Raider Shields and Chicago Bears heads (these are all horrible fakes I've seen lately) on a card, these are NOT real. With the exception of certain Pro Bowl cards.

You see, I would like to see real facts like that before claiming that something is fake. It's a shame that the hobby has come down to this. They should scan every single patch card before shipping them out and have some database for us to access. Like make a photobucket and section off each product then break it down by set and player and then the serial numberd. I know this would be very time consuming but it's one of the only ways to know what is real or not.

Panini has a system where they athenticate their cards. of course it cost money to send them in and have it authenticated but they do something where they have an invisible ink on the patch of the card that they can see somehow and then they will encase it (not like BGS or PSA) and seal the card with one of their stickers showing it as authentic.
if you want to read more about it it is on their website

From what I understand SPA does not put any super logo patches in the regular rookies. So if the patch is better than a nice 4 color patch ie. reebok, team logo, etc. it is fake.

2009 SPA had plenty of logos and Reebok patches

I think that's unfair for the collector to have to buy to make sure your (i.e. Panini) merchandise is legit, but at least it's a step in the right direction.

they did! and that's what makes the 2008 that much harder to distinguish real/fake siiigh too many from SPA 08 is fake ,booooo

Panini is trying to help resurrect the Hobby shops. I say they give each authorized hobby shop that light gun they use to see the ink. That way you can bring your cards in to check and see if they are real. Its free, its a great service and it brings people into their local card shop!

By then, them guys would probably stick a fake into a pack and pretend like they pull it out of it like those hot packs!!!
and
Why can't these card companies just have a photo of every single card coming out of their factories on their site so we, as collectors can go there and compare for ourselves!!!
