PSA will be at the Chicago show this weekend and I have some 86 Fleer cards I want to grade. The centering on the front of the cards are dead on, but some of the backs are a little off.
I've read places that PSA doesn't grade the centering on the reverse side.. is that true?
Does anyone have information on how critical they are on reverse side centering?

They definitely grade the reverse but the threshold is much much less--75/25 vs 60-40 to 55-45 for 10s. I wouldn't worry about the backs unless the card is actually miscut. Keep in mind anything that is diamond cut (crooked) will be judged based on the smallest measurement points for each.

hate to piggy back on someone elses thread but im new to the more serious side of collecting and being in the chicago area i wouldnt mind getting a few cards graded
i have a few steph curry rookie base cards, would PSA be fine for grading this card? i was recommended to get more modern cards graded by BGS
blastman, had no idea they would be in chicago this weekend - thanks for the info

I usually grade with BGS....does PSA slab on site at the shows, or do you have to do a raw review like BGS and wait for them to come in?

If you think the Curry's will be PSA 10's, I'd go that route myself as they outsell BGS 9.5's usually. I also think cards look better in a PSA case.

Thanks for responding. The backs are not terribly off center, just not as nice as the front.

No problem. Go on Friday if you can, there won't be much of a wait for grading.

I'm not aware of any on-site slabbing or raw review for PSA. I've only submitted a couple times with them. I've always received my slabs in the mail. BGS will do raw reviews at the show though.

I've always used BGS, but it seems some PSA 10's outsell BGS9.5's....for modern Chrome and Prizm non refractor RC's, which do you prefer...PSA or BGS?

If you're looking to resell, then see what sells better for the card you're grading.
I prefer to use PSA for older cards.
I'm submitting some 86 Fleer, 80s Jordans, 90s Jordan refractors all to PSA.

BGS will raw review your cards, but they won't be in a hard slab. Just in a sealed semi rigid.
