View Full Version : What's The Best Way To Ship A Graded Card?

I added some tape around the sandwiched picture below. Then I will put it into a larger bubble mailer. Thanks for your recommendations :)!
Just sold a BGS card on eBay. I typically never ship BGS slabbed cards. Right now I have it packaged in a bubble mailer with about 10 oversized cards (the card is long enough to cover the whole slab) on either side. Should this be enough? Should I put the bubble mailer in a box to be safe? Thanks :)!
This is what it looks like currently. I also forgot to mention it has a team bag around the slab, but not the cards sandwiching it (wouldn't fit).

I have shipped a bunch & received a bunch over the years & only 1 cracked. Normally with an extra on each side in a team bag wrapped in a sheet of copy paper in a bubbly, really depends on that to...the cheap or loose feeling ones I double up & haven't had an issue.

i will only ship graded cards in a box. really not much extra (if any) cost, and protects much better.

I put two pieces of cardboard in a team set bag and sandwich it in the middle, then place it in a small bubble envelope. Seal it and place that in to a bigger 6 x 9.5 envelope. Never had any problems with that.

I agree with the box idea, but I have also taken extra cardboard, cut it to size placed on both sides, taped tightly then used whatever bubble wrap I have laying around the house to add protection and then shipped in bubble mailer.

I put them in a bubble mailer, then ship in a small flat rate box from USPS. Fits perfectly and never had a problem. Plus, the usps boxes are free at the post office.

In all these years I have never received a graded card in a box except when it came with a Lot I purchased. Never by itself. If I have 2 or more to ship it normally goes in the box. Maybe I will do that though from now on....it does cost more unlike what was said. You can ship a padded graded card in a bubbler for $3.50ish and the flate rate is $5.95 I think. Both come with tracking & box with $50 insurance.

just checked through PP, should be able to ship a graded card in a 400 count white card box first class for $2.77. that is the 8 oz price. if you put a lot of packing material in there, in may go up to $3.22 for 9 oz.

I thought we were talking the flate rate boxes.....I don't trade & sell a lot anymore. I use to trade & sell a lot for a long time though....

2 thin pieces of cardboard around the card, inside a team bag, inside a bubble mailer. Sent hundreds this way for $2.61. Never a crack, never any type of problems.
Just recently started wrapping them in a bubble mailer and putting in another bubble mailer only because I have about 2000 of those ebay branded mailers that were free and I need to use them lol

Agree. If you can find them at your LCS the leaf buyback boxes work awesome for graded. I keep a bunch in my man cave closet for higher dollar ines just for that. If you don't have, a small box with padding works almost as good.

See that's the issue also. My local card shop shut down again so when I have something high dollar it goes flat rate normally. I actually need to order supplies :p

Haven't sold a bunch of graded cards, unlike some of you, but what I do is put it in a team bag, put it in a bubble mailer, then put cardboard on both sides, before putting it in another bubble mailer with the buyer's info on it. Never had an issue.

I use the small or large BGS box to ship (the cardboard boxes they send your cards back inside)... Then I'll usually put that inside a padded flat rate envelope or a medium flat rate box (depending on if I'm sending registered or not)....

yep old thread - but question here:
Any tips on shipping psa slabs in bulk? Shipping a bunch in one box for the first time. Should I cardboard sandwich every card? Every 3 slabs? What do y'all do?
Appreciate the advice - Nick

These days with porch pirates running rampant, I'd opt for this.

Do you have any of the boxes that the PSA cards get shipped back in? I actually store a lot of my graded cards in those boxes and if you put them in one of those then another box with some padding around it I would think that would ship really well.
If you don't - you don't have to cardboard each one - I would cardboard in groups of 3 or 4 with tape on all edges to make sure they don't slide out from under the cardboard and you should be good to go.
