This week I had a group of cards that I purchased on Ebay finally arrive! A little bit of background for those who care. Like many I spent a lot of time at the local card shop as a kid (mostly with non-sports and some hockey/football). Left the hobby as I grew up and hadn't touched a card in 20 years. In November my local mall had a small card show and I was killing time while my wife shopped. I'm a big Gator fan and out in the middle of Iowa and stumble across a random as heck Louis Murphy auto card in a Gator uniform. Ended up buying about 10 cards of all Gator players in pro uniforms foolishly thinking I'd start a Gator collection. I got home, started fervently researching and realized a lot had changed since I was a kid. Even the most obscure Gator had what seemed like 50 cards. If he ever even sniffed any NFL/NBA team there was no shortage of cards to get. Obviously collecting all of them would be a fool's errand. Then I got into a rabbit hole of box breaks and boxes at Target and realized those were quick ways to spend money without any return.
So long story short, I've adjusted. Decided my goal was to have players in Gator jersey's to display in my office. I really liked the 2015 National Treasures Collegiate Multi-Sport so I decided to see if I could collect all the Gator cards from the set. A semi-realistic goal at least! Well after scouring Ebay these were what I could find so far that was reasonably priced. If anyone has any others from the set for sale let me know! For now I'm not trying to hit a home run but get all the reasonably priced cards and progress up from there. Maybe will get a box at some point but at the 250 price point my guess is I wont land a Gator and just end up in the hole.
