View Full Version : EBAY SCAMMER eaglepearl David Perlstein Yardley, PA 19067
I sell on ebay.eaglepearl made an offer of $325 for my Laquon Treadwell 2016 Contenders Super Bowl Ticket 1\1 auto on 3/20/2017. I got an email from Paypal that the seller filed an unauthorized payment claim on the card, and I have a negative balance of the $325. I sent a message thru ebay, nothing. I called PP they saod the person filed thru ebay. Thats not possible b/c I have no notification from ebay. Ebay said it was thru Paypal. Now I am on hold, with Paypal for the 2nd time today. Btw,the buyer left me 100% positive feedback on ebay for the card. His name is David Pearlstein 1120 University Drive ,Yardley PA. His email address is eagle_pearl@hotmail.com. Hos ebay account has 596 feedbacks,100% positive. This is clearly buyer's remorse. Nobody wait 24 days to file an unauthorized claim unless they're up to no good. Do yourself a favor and save the trouble
Sorry to post again. This buyer's ebay id is eaglepearl. His email that he used is eagle_pearl@hotmail.com. also,I found out that the buyer opened the unauthorized transaction dispute thru his bank. I submitted the tracking info from the transaction to paypal and they released the hold of the funds. I told them I can send a screenshot of the feedback this clown left me the day he got my card, but they said that I did enough by sending them the tracking info. I guess that's the cool thing to do these days,,,Im just glad I dont have to go thru the nightmare of getting my card shipped back. He would of kept it and sent me a $1 card in place of,guaranteed! Beware of this guy, family.

blocked! sorry you had to go through this. thanks for letting the community know.
It could be his CC was stolen and he filed a claim with his bank and the bank just filed chargebacks for everything from a certain date. BUT if he has not responded to messages, then that is a problem.

Got me for 200 on a Carson Wentz encased /5 as well, same guy. Someone even signed for the package that I sent.
He did not respond.Debbie from Paypal dispute/resolution/dept released the holding of the funds, and took off the negative balance from my account, but told me they would eat the chargeback. This left a bad taste in my mouth. I don't like reporting people. Online I guess we have to. It's not like I can go to his house and handle it in person. Idk,,people do have problems, life does happen. Situations and problems do occur. My Son has been thru some nasty viruses and other illnesses, which caused me to miss work for a couple weeks. On 2/28/2017,my neighborhood was hit twice by a tornado. We had to move out for a cpl weeks. When the SHTF,it hits hard. So I hope that might be the case. But as time passes and no reply from him,it seems more and more obvious what really happened. Maybe I deserved it. Who's to say? Anyhow, its probably best to stay away from this guy, unless he contacts me with some proof or a really good reason. If that happens,I'll update.

Why would you deserve to get scammed?? Confused about that part... But man this is awful. Hopefully like someone else said he lost his CC or had it stolen... in that case they will chargeback EVERYTHING from a certain date ive read. So that could be what happened here with everyone?
If not from a CC issue, it should be 100% clear he is scamming/breaking the lawbased off all these chargebacks with confirmed deliveries... and paypal should suspend his account ASAP.... Has anyone tried getting his contact info from ebay, and calling him to see?

I was just trying to be humble about it,to keep my frustration low. We should all have his address and phone number on our seller's page,by clicking on his transaction.I left him a vm yesterday, asking him what the problem was. Then again thru ebay. Of course,no reply. I have more respect for a dude that told me "go F yourself" after he shipped a card back to me because it had light surface scratches. Lol.
I reported him to ebay, since he is doing this with his bank, the claims being filed thru Paypal. I hope wveryone else does the same,if he got you as well.

I doubt it was a stolen card... the packages were delivered to his address, signed for, and he left positive feedback on eBay.
I meant he claimed the CC was stolen. If he told the bank the card was stolen/lost around 3/1, for example, the bank will file chargebacks on everything from 3/1 forward. Some banks will ask him which transactions were legit, some don't.
But his lack of response makes me think this is intentional and not done by the bank.

Just called PayPal (talked to Sarah... very pleasant)... I explained the situation & also informed her that he's a habitual offender. She said all they needed was the tracking info to see that the package did indeed get delivered to his address, but also added some notes (he left positive feedback for the transaction & he is currently trying to screw several other sellers)... then promptly released the funds back into my account.
She did say that since he initiated the chargebacks through his bank, it would be up to his bank to make the final decision. Somehow I feel we're still going to get screwed.

So because this dick weasel pulled this stunt, I'm out 450 bucks for the next 10 days and can't use my paypal. At least I will get it back.

It could be a different scenario...
David Perlstein of Yardley PA is 55 years old and has had an Ebay account since 1999.
He has a son named Jesse who lives at the same address. He is 22.
The son may have made the purchases with his father's Ebay account (which is tied to his father's card and therefore Paypal).
The father may have just recently found out what the son did.
Somewhere in the above info is a metaphor... I just can't pin it down yet.

Just spoke to Paypal about this David fella. Currently have a paypal case open because of an Embiid I sold him on Feb 1st. He also has a chargeback filed with my cousin who sold him an Embiid around that same time. Paypal told me they will release my funds and dispute on my behalf because they have the tracking number. But the case won't be closed until his CC company is done with it or whatever the process is. Yardley, PA is 20 minutes from me..... pondering my options......

This is exactly what I have been thinking. The guy has a 500+ positive feedback rating. I doubt somebody with that rating suddenly goes bad. I'd be willing to bet it was the son.
I wonder if the father knows the truth & is just trying to take the easy route to getting his money back... or if he just saw a series of PayPal transfers, and had no idea what they were. Remember, PayPal offers that "Pay After Delivery" option that processes the transfer 15 days later.

If his 22-year old adult kid is making all these purchases you would think that he would put a quick stop to it. If my teenage son bought something online with my card without talking to me first (he has always asked me first) I would make sure that would be the last thing he would ever buy using my card.

He left + feedback to everyone, its the dads eBay account & he just happens to not notice that he's won thousands of dollars in cards, been leaving feedback bidding on stuff, making payments through paypal??

Sorry to hear that you all are getting scammed. This sort of stuff makes me hesitant to even sell anything trough ebay.
Have any of those being scammed thought about contacting the DA in the buyer's hometown? It seems there are several people being scammed and at some point there needs to be answers as to why. At least a detective or something might contact him to find out whats up. Also, I'm sure there might be some federal violations since the cards were sent through the mail.

Thanks to idiot sellers who used it as leverage over the buyers. The sellers job is simple and does not require feedback. Your job is to ship it as a seller that's all. So as long as you got the money there is no need for negative feedback. Where they screwed up is not allowing sellers to leave a negative when things go sour. That's what they should have done but due to sellers playing games it's easier to not allow it at all.

I would say that, at a minimum, if a buyer receives an unpaid item strike, the seller should be allowed to leave negative feedback. Some may want to stretch it to say if a buyer is sent a non-payer warning (after however many days and there is no communication from the buyer after an invoice is sent) then a neutral would be allowed. I would have no issue with either one of these.

So none of you guys that got a chargeback tried to call this joker? Would have been my very first thing if I was on this list of letting PP pay this guy off.
My thoughts exactly! I was thinking how can this be on page 3 already with no number, facebook, home address, or place of business listed.

What will calling the guy accomplish? He's not responding to emails, direct or through eBay, so surely won't be willing to talk on the phone. Even if he does, he's not going to say anything other than "don't harass me".
Besides, the dispute is between him (and his bank) and PayPal. I've provided PayPal with all the information they need, this dude won't get away with it.

I cannot imagine how frustrating this is for the sellers who are getting rooked. So either the
Father, but more likely the 22 year old son, are keeping the cards and getting the money back.
How is this not larceny, internet fraud, banking fraud?

It has to be something pretty big. How hasn't Ebay shut his account down or closed his paypal account. They probably are both guilty and laughing by the day.

If the total goes above 6k (I think) it becomes grand larceny, which is a felony. Yes this also can bring up internet fraud, mail fraud, bank fraud, and a host of other charges depending on how ambitious/pissed the prosecutor is feeling that day.
HOWEVER, prosecuting internet crimes is inherently difficult and usually not pursued heavily unless the amount involved reaches obscene levels of money.

He (or somebody in the household) even signed for most of them. He had to know it wouldn't be very hard to track him down on the internet.
Maybe he just thought he'd be screwing over bank/credit card company, because, as we all know, THEY are the real crooks.

Damn, this clown went on a serious spending spree. Anybody know what paypal does when a bank rules in favor of their customer? I found it weird when about 2 months ago someone got my account information and took out $1200 in 3 western union payments to the Czech Republic that the bank immediately put the funds back in to my account and then started the investigation. I would figure they would investigate first. But it just took me saying that those weren't my charges to get the money back.

That's incredibly frustrating. They should at least do a little investigation before taking money out of accounts. Buyers have way too many ways to scam sellers. I really wish they had a set up that required buyers to commit to a final sale and if they didn't after a certain time (like 14 days) their account would be on hold until they made a case or accepted it. This whole chargebacks after a ridiculous amount of time is insane. It's so unnerving that when you sell an item, especially higher dollar ones that a buyer at any time can choose to not want it and claim some bs after months and get their money back.

PayPal cannot put in place policies which circumvent consumer protection laws. Basically if your credit card accepts charge backs being filed 4 months later, they can't say no to that as by accepting the cc in the first place they agreed to it. Friends business got hit with a nearly 10k chargeback through PayPal and as a result had to stop accepting them as a payment source. As a seller we agreed to the terms when we signed up, even if we didn't read them. It sucks, it's buyer biased, but for now there's little to do but wait.

This is scary for higher end sellers/cards. Im going to add local pick up,and have someone accompany me with a digital camcorder with full hd or ultra hd 4k real time. Like it would matter,,in sure they'd find another way to get around even that!

Video is not a form of proof of delivery that Paypal accepts. So you will have no proof of delivery and you are subject to being scam again.
The truth is if someone purposely tries to scam, there are a lot of ways to do it.

Agreed. Basically, it is how the credit cards offer great protection to buyers. We benefit from that as cardholders. Because there are so few CCard providers, vendors and sites are pretty much required to accept their terms unless they want to run a cash-only business. Because cards are only as good as the number of people who hold them, the market wouldn't support a more buyer-friendly provider since most major retailers/businesses have the ability to float significant chargebacks until they get resolved.

2016 National Treasures Wendell Smallwood rookie patch autographed card, No. 136, and serial numbered 24/99. Glorious patch.
Checking in, called Paypal and spoke to them and it seems like there isn't going to be much of an issue. I also submitted to PP's chargeback department a comment about what's going on as well as screencaps of the offer & comment eaglepearl sent, a message signed 'dave' after the purchase in which they go on about how happy they are with the transaction, and the positive feedback ole 'dave' left.
Purchase was March 31st, they received the item April 5th by Priority Mail, and the chargeback was filed on April 14th I believe.
