Are older jersey cards more authentic?

I do not mean Ruths, and back then, but I mean earlier jersey sets.

Are they more likely to be game used than current GU cards?

especially those early/mid 2000's DLP issues, that had a picture on the back of the item they chopped up for the card

I would think yes but Private Stock in the late 90's (I know not a jersey card) has non-gamers etc for Juan Gonzalez that was surprising.
