Nice room! I am jealous of that, esp the space. My current setup is literally a bedroom, so not much room to really hang out or display all I have in the way I want. My next house will have a large dedicated space-either finished attic or basement that is all mine. I have posted pics in the basketball forum of my UNC room before but I don't have much space dedicated to baseball in it right now.

I should make O.J. Pay rent!=} Nice displays Gators. When my wife and I lived in an apt. I just had a bedroom. When we bought our house, my only requirement was a basement for my man cave. It has a full bathroom down there...I just need a mini fridge and I could live down there!

Thanks dteters! Those are definitely valid requirements! I'm always on the lookout for a minifridge in yard sales or online but nothing that I liked yet.

That's a nice space and some nice stuff in there Reggie! I just had a somewhat friend drafted by the Seahawks (more of I know him and helped him with a non-profit he started than hang out friend, although I wish he was).

Nazair Jones. I watched him and got to know him a bit in his time at UNC and then have helped him with a mentoring program he started last year since that's kind of what I do. He is a great talent on the field and an extremely nice and caring guy-Seattle is getting a good one.

Even though they make me jealous, I love seeing people's pics of their caves. Sweet rooms guys.

My next house will have a large dedicated space-either finished attic or basement that is all mine.

This is my plan as well. My current cave is also just a bedroom. It's packed to the gills with boxes and stacks of cards that is doesn't display well at all. I so look forward to being able to "sprawl out" a bit with extra space. I just hope I can keep it organized when I finally get the room.

That was my plan before we bought our current house, but the lot size, location and deal we got was too good to pass up, even if it meant no big space for me. I will link my room below-old link and pictures and is so full of everything piled up I can barely even walk in there right now. I need to get it cleaned out, new pics and post on something different than photobucket.

Used to be stationed at Bragg retired 2 years ago..A buddy of mine had gotten the tickets so I took my son with me to the game.. Also yes it is a custom made table. Just bought the giant Marlins logo and clear coated it onto the table.. Appreciate it

Man, ive got to say, these man caves make me start to question mine. Dont think that mine will compare. LOL, yes, I am. Thanks, wish I had much more space to display all my stuff. My Reds stuff is only on one bookcase in the opposite corner of those pics really and the big walk in closet is piled with cards, and more memorabilia that I cant display in such a small room.

I moved recently into a bigger place which allowed me to set up a man cave in the basement. Men, with their man caves, all have different ideas on what they want it to look like. Some look at their card collections as decoration in a more socially livable room. Between the wall displays of cards and jerseys, there are couches. bars, video game and television set ups and some even have exercise equipment.

Myself I have forgone this type of man cave and concentrated all the space toward card collecting, trading and displaying. The walls are used for display of cards and magazines, with a concentration on displaying current collecting endeavors. Presently that is 1952 Bowman Baseball, and One quality card for each member of the Baseball Hall of Fame.

I have my desk and laptop in one corner leaving the center of the room for an island dedicated to tradable cards. No more rooting through stacks of 5000 ct. boxes, they now are all open and side-by-side for east rummaging. This saves so much time when putting together trades for shipping.

The rest of the space is for shelving binders full of card sets, factory sets, boxes and other miscellany. All in all the space allows organization, it is very functional. As to its ascetic appeal. I will leave it up to the reader to decide.

I tried this way as well. Then I realized with that blue sticky putty I can just forego the shelves altogether and stick the cards directly on the wall. It saves a lot of space which for me is great because I can put up more cards per square foot (see above post).

But you may find the shelves make the wall look nicer so it depends on what you are going for. A closer look at the cards on the shelves you made would be cool to see as well.

I like this better than the sports-bar style man-cave. It's more quirky and has more personality. I like when there is a mixture of organization and clutter, it seems more fun than a space where everything is clean and stark. Just make sure that those nice cards on the wall aren't exposed to too much UV light...!

I personally love being able to display my collectibles which is why I had gravitated towards autographed photos/equipment instead of cards. However, I've recently gotten back into collecting cards and have been thinking of display ideas as I don't like my cards to just sit in boxes. Yes you are correct. Mine is for function. In my old space I had to stack all the 5000ct. boxes on top of each other to have room to move around. That meant picking up and moving all these boxes each time I added or removed cards. The suckers are heavy and I'm not as young as I used to be. Now I can just go to the box and finger through the cards, no lifting and moving dozens of boxes anymore.

I like this better than the sports-bar style man-cave. It's more quirky and has more personality. I like when there is a mixture of organization and clutter, it seems more fun than a space where everything is clean and stark. Just make sure that those nice cards on the wall aren't exposed to too much UV light...!

Yes, the sun doesn't get in directly. And the overhead lights are off unless Im taking pics.

Yours looks like what I would have wanted/done when I was younger. I was more focused on cards and collecting back then, and dreamed of a card shop and that set up would have been so good for that. I don't collect cards anywhere near the same level now, mostly memorabilia, so enjoy having the display of that stuff. In an ideal world I would have my front big room more display and have a smaller working room that is functional like what you have. Love how you have notebooks on shelves all the way around, and the table sat up to have multiple boxes out and accessible. My closet is as close as I have to that, lined with shelves of boxes and notebooks, but not the space to have out like you have.

Love seeing the pictures of the cards displayed on the wall! I personally love being able to display my collectibles which is why I had gravitated towards autographed photos/equipment instead of cards. However, I've recently gotten back into collecting cards and have been thinking of display ideas as I don't like my cards to just sit in boxes. Some of you guys have some awesome set ups and have given me a few ideas!

if you dont want to use shelves or display cases, just get blue sticky putty. Its what I do.

No doubt. There's no telling me how long it would take me to find a specific card nowdays. When I focused on cards I could prob put my hand on any card I had within minutes.

Scottbdoug, your room is great inspiration for a collecting room, while a few others have been awesome entertainment areas. A dream come true for me would be both- A basement with some decorations, small bar area, big TV, etc, plus a room attached at the end that would be more geared towards collecting functionality, an area for all of my cards. Some decorations (signed jerseys, posters, etc) would spill over into the entertainment/man cave room, but the vast majority of the cards would be in the attached room. That'd be a dream come true

Now, just to find the money, house, and partner that will let me do all that....

Well, here is my humble entry...I used to think I bad a pretty bad ass man cave until I saw some of the sweet set-ups posted on here! This is my basement bar. Always have been a huge Cubs and Yankees fan, as well as Chicago Bulls. Some of my favorite pieces are my UDA authenticated Michael Jordan photo, my piece of the old Chicago stadium court signed by Scottie Pippen (right underneath the Jordan photo), Steiner authenticated Jeter and Rivera photos, and my newest addition, the World Series celebration photo signed by Bryant, Rizzo, Baez, and Russell.

Meant to post sooner, some great looking rooms in this thread. My space consists of a bedroom and a downstairs living room. My wife has her own space as well where she puts up girly stuff, we have a good separation. One day I hope to have a basement.

The first three are of the bedroom and the last three are the downstairs living room. I started off as a historical autograph collector and then moved to baseball cards and such. Almost all the frames you see are autographs (all the baseball ones are minus the three Sports Propaganda prints which I really dig).

Thanks! Most of them are Presidents, I have everybody from Teddy Roosevelt onwards although not all framed. Majority are either PSA or JSA with some other reputable auction house LOAs. The flamboyant looking ones are European monarchs, most notably you see a Louis XIV, Franz Josef, Louis Philippe, and although you can't see the full frame a Philip II from the 1500s. Picked those up around Europe. I have a bunch more not framed. But the big one I'm missing is a Napoleon auto, I just need to tamper down in card buying eventually.
