Well I was born in 82, so in my lifetime they have been crappy. I respect history but I only judge what Ive seen. Hence the Mariners are nearly the crappiest of all haha. Sadly.

Fun fact, the last time the Mariners made the playoffs was 6 years before the FIRST iPhone haha.

You mean before you hit puberty...The Oakland Athletics' 1988 season involved the A's winning their first American League West title since 1981, with a record of 104 wins and 58 losses. In 1988, the elephant was restored as the symbol of the Athletics and currently adorns the left sleeve of home and road uniforms. The elephant was retired as team mascot in 1963 by then-owner Charles O. Finley in favor of a Missouri mule. The A's defeated the Boston Red Sox in the ALCS, but lost the World Series to the Los Angeles Dodgers in five games, including a dramatic, classic walk-off home run by the Dodgers' Kirk Gibson in game one.
1988 was the first of 3 straight years the A's would represent the AL in the World Series.
They would start the next WS during an earthquake, and eventually win that one. They also had guys like Rickey Henderson, McGwire, Swisher, Zorbrist, Canseco, Parker, Chavez, Harden, Zito, Kendall and F'ing Eck!! One the greatest teams in baseball imho, where rich teams go to cherry pick talent, and with over 44 guys in the HOF and more coming soon.
You can have the bloated millionaires teams, I'll take the A's and Rays and Mariners (except when they are beating the Rays) and other scrappy teams any day. (rant over, my apologies).

Too bad it's not game-worn. Really disappointed Topps didn't do the five star thing with this release.
