View Full Version : Try to cross this over?

I've been watching the preference slowly move to PSA over the past year and although I love the subs on this I feel like it may be worth more as a PSA 10 and Heritage just looks so darn amazing in a PSA holder.
What are your thoughts that it would cross over to a PSA 10 and in the long run would it be more valuable versus how it's graded now? Appreciate the opinions :)!

I agree that this card has a great chance of crossing over. Really nice subs on that one. Congrats as it's a real beauty.

I'd leave well enough alone. Beautiful.

I just crossed over 3 bgs 9.5 to psa 10's. All 3 had 9.5 subs only. I'd cross that baby over, but I prefer psa to bgs

I'd cross it in a heartbeat. (Obviously, submit it in the holder, do not remove it. Some aren't aware of this).
I'm a PSA guy (every card should be PSA), but no matter who you are, metal (the flip) and Heritage (non-chrome) do not go together.

I'd probably highly consider BGS RCR a couple times to see if you can get the bump to BGS 10 Pristine. If you can't then I would go for the PSA 10.

I agree with Skipscards. I'm not sure what your frame of reference is when you say you've seen preferences changing, but I only notice a few people highly touting PSA for modern era cards on here.
Actually, I generally only notice ThatBackPages, who unsurprisingly was your first response...and he's so obnoxiously over the top about his preference that I've become convinced he has an ownership stake of some sort in the company (or has some pretty strong beef with BGS from past dealings with them).

I'd much rather have it in BGS slab. I've never been on the PSA train.

This. I would never consider crossing that over. Just my opinion but seems several others agree. Nice card OP.

Personally I don't think PSA 10 will bring much more a premium (maybe a little). If it was for my PC I would want a PSA 10 because I love how heritage looks in PSA. That is a great looking card and amazing subs.. So again if selling I wouldn't do a thing.

Appreciate everyone's opinions with this. Although I do love the look of Heritage cards in a PSA hold the subs on this probably keep the value around the same.
Thanks again for the opinions :)!

I've never done any crossing over but I have a bunch of good prospecting cards that have high BGS 9.5's. Is it worth it to make the move? I prefer BGS for my PC but I'm all for whatever is going to get me the most cash for investments.

I prefer PSA over BGS, but with this card, 9.5/10, it is fine as is. I would keep it as is and use the money to buy more cards.

If corners, edges, and surface are 9.5s or better, I'd give it a shot. I crossed a card with 3 9.5s and a 9 for centering.
That said, I don't really get the obsession people have with PSA unless you're just trying to sell it and it's going for significantly more in a PSA 10 flip.

I don't get why people prefer PSA over BGS either. The cases are complete garbage. I guess it's a matter of preference. For my PC 90s Griffey I prefer BGS over PSA all day

I sent 8 cards to cross over to PSA last week. Went 5/8.
4 true gem + crossed
1 true gem crossed
1 9.5,9.5,10,10 did not cross
1 9.5,10,9.5,9.5 did not cross
1 true gem did not cross
It's a crap shoot, however I wouldn't definitely try to cross this one over

It's preference and the fact that most cards sell for more in a PSA holder.

Did you crack them out or send them in the BGS slab?

Sent all as bgs slabs
Also sent in 3 2017 Bowman Chrome autos (virtually guaranteed 9.5s according the becketts pop reports) and only 1 got a psa 10

I've always done a ton of BGS grading but I've found that my PSA 10 cards are outselling my BGS 9.5 cards. I may be doing more PSA with that now in reference.

I don't do grading so don't know much-esp value differences and why-if rep or accuracy is better with one than the other. On appearance only I think BGS with brass looking label looks so much better than the PSA which just looks bobo/generic to me with the paper label compared.
