Came home today (or, rather, came to the apartment I'm moving out of which no longer has a bed or furniture but has junk everywhere...) to packages from Mojobreak, majorlp09, Steel City Collectibles, Platinum Card Breaks, and a Japanese eBay seller.

First off, I had done two different 10 box breaks of Threads, with the Timberwolves and Sixers in both. Didn't hit anything big. In the first break, I hit 3 Ben Simmons base cards and no inserts. In the second break, I hit 5 Ben Simmons base cards and these:

For not hitting anything big, that break went okay!

Among the cards I received from NT breaks were my 3rd and 4th Malik Beasley RPA /99. I did have Beasley in two different 5 case breaks, and hit one of them in those, but still... dude has haunted my breaks, and aside from being slightly disappointed to see the Nuggets colors and not have a Beasley, I can't complain.

Next was one of the key cards of my main PC player, Gorgui Dieng. I was really impressed with how quickly this got to me. I bought this beauty on the evening of Tuesday, May 16th. It got to Minneapolis from Tokyo on May 25th. And the seller only charged $10 USD for shipping. I'll take that!

If you don't know that I'm burying the lede, you probably haven't read many of my break posts.

I've done about a million NT group breaks. In all the time I've collected basketball cards I've never owned a Logoman (only about 4 years during the Logoman era, to be fair).

In my first ever break with Platinum Card Breaks, I bought the Jazz for $39. The price was just too good to pass up, with all the Malone and Stockton content, along with current players and an RPA.

I told this story in the group break section, but for those who haven't read it: after buying the Jazz in Platinum NT case #155, when I came back later to see if it had been busted, they had posted 9 more cases. I bought the Jazz in all of those as well. That night, at around 11, I saw that there were at least 15 teams left in each of those breaks, so figured it would be at least another day before they opened any. I went to sleep.

I woke up around 4:30 AM. Usually, I don't look at my phone in the middle of the night. I did this morning. There was a notification from Tapatalk (I accidentally subscribe to threads sometimes) that KidKards101 had posted in the Logoman Tracker thread. Normally (believe it or not), I don't look at Blowout threads in the middle of the night, either. But I was just awake enough that I decided to click it. My only hope was that it wasn't a Jazz player. Naturally, it was Jazz rookie Joel Bolomboy. "FML," I thought. And I went back to sleep.

I woke up a few hours later. As I was doing my morning phone reading, building up the energy to get out of bed, it occurred to me there was a chance that Platinum works different than other breakers and had actually done the break, given that they had somehow already done 150+. So I looked and sure enough, a few more breaks were posted on Youtube from the previous night. The first thing I notice is that one of the breaks is labeled as having TWO Logoman cards. None of the other breaks are labeled as having a Logoman.

I watched the two Logoman card break first, despite not having a team in it. There were, indeed, two Logomen. The Bolomboy was not one. Still, I figured that if they had pulled the Bolomboy, they would have labeled the break video. So I wasn't particularly hopeful that the Bolomboy was mine. Then, of course, in the very first break I was in he pulled the Bolomboy Rookie Auto Logoman 1/1 for me. Talk about beginner's luck!

Naturally, I have been reading up on Bolomboy and watching his highlight videos for the past week. Bolomboy doesn't have a non-auto Logoman in NT, and unless he makes the Flawless Logoman Auto cut, I think I have his best card! My favorite thing about him: he reminds me of Gorgui. A hustle guy who plays D and gets rebounds, has a long wingspan, started playing bball at a late age, and has started to develop a shot. My kind of player!

That black prizm mosaic RC of Dieng is SWEEETT! Easily my favorite card in the thread, even with the logoman! It is sooooo nice when a PC player picks up a key 1/1 rookie card. As a fellow player PC'er, this makes me so happy the card has found its home!

Thanks, man! Yeah, I was excited to see that posted. I've really narrowed the parameters of my PC recently, to the point where I even sent a couple Gorgui 1/1s to COMC. But when I saw this on eBay I had to have it. And it sold for less than some I paid for Gorgui's black prizm from 2015-16, which I thought was crazy. Less than half my max bid. I love the offseason (well, for buying...).
