My buddy found this and I bought it sight unseen, then holy cow I did some research! Anyways, laid untouched for over 20 years in storage and in terrific shape overall. Not sure what I'm going to do with it, will def send it for grading and go from there I think. Thanks for the look!

PSA has the following -

* NM-MT 8 @ $1,500
* MT 9 @ $3,000
* GEM-MT 10 @ 10,500

A PSA Gem Mint 10 sold for $8,365 in 2015.

Wow, just found it at a flea market. I'm never that lucky. You don't see them often. Looks to be in really nice shape.

After some research it seems to be his only "non licensed" rookie card that was distributed by the Boy Scouts of America in only the Chicago area during his rookie year. No count on how many exist from what I can tell.

Hmmmm...never seen this one. Careful. If it's "not licensed"' that means NO NBA fees were paid to release the card with official NBA logos shown. That means it *should* carry the same value as those goofy Star cards with unknown colored boarders. Broader cards....86 Donruss RR style.....FAKE.

A card like that, I'd be scared as HELL it was reprinted in the summer of 2015....as opposed to 1985.....

Super cool piece though........

Lol that is an insane find. Curious how much you paid for it (if you don't mind sharing). I can understand why you'd jump on the opportunity though.

I myself was not even aware of this card until it was mentioned in a post a few months back.

Interesting how it was distributed by local boy scouts in the Chicago area.

I'd seen one of these on another board awhile back, not in person sadly lol. Phenomenal pick up- I hope all the good collectors on here can pull off something like that once in their collecting lifetime! I already had mine I think- picked up an SPx gold 97-98 Rodman at a show with a bunch of other 90s inserts for like $30. Got home, turned it over...it was the grand finale /50. Sold for $800 and got my MJ auto :)!

Saw one at the Wilmington, Mass show last fall for the first time in person. I think they were asking $2500. I thought it was made by Star Co. like those Franz Blazers sets, but it wasn't. Honestly, it's a better looking card than most of Jordan's Star stuff (except for the 5x7 Slam Dunk and Court Kings, which are sick). That's amazing if it's real (probably) and you paid a small amount.

Def not a reprint and for what I paid I couldn't lose either way

I was first interested since it had a Boy Scouts emblem on it, thought it was neat. Cost me less than the new pressure washer I was looking at and I'd rather have this anyways!

Looks so nice in person...thinking of sending it to PSA over BGS

Thanks! Edges are perfect, two corners kind of soft, surface might give me the most problems as there is no sleeve. Keeping my fingers crossed

The first few times I saw this card I thought it was issued by Star.

If this card is unlicensed, it is crazy that BGS and PSA would grade it.

Very nice looking card, but still not a rookie. Nowadays seems like everything is labeled as a rookie.

Here is a PSA 9 which is super tough to find. There are only 19 graded 9 and 7 graded 10.

Ive known of this card for a couple years at least and have never came across a reprint, so this should be legit. And it looks to be in great shape with psa 10 potential. Good piece, congrats on the find, and enjoy the 10k.

Decide what you were going to do with it? Grade it? Sell it raw? I'd be interested.

I bet a PSA 10 would go for more than that.

LOL! He even says two corners are kind of soft. No chance at a PSA 10.
