View Full Version : Another eBay Non-Paying Bidder to avoid: RobbieWagga from Australia.

Had a Jaylen Brown NT RPA ending at the right time during the playoffs. Was happy to see it reach $999 with a buyer I've dealt with before, who has over 10,000 feedback, as the top bidder. Then that buyer got outbid on the last day by RobbieWagga.

I thought it was promising that, after initially having an Australian shipping address, he switched his mailing address to COMC a day or two after the auction ended. To me, this indicated that he definitely didn't bid by accident, or bid on a foreign eBay site and then forget, etc. So I figured payment was coming. Even sent him a new invoice along with a note to let me know if he needed additional time to pay. He never communicated with me. And never paid. So I would recommend not dealing with this clown.

eBay: RobbieWagga
COMC: Rbwagga

If that it too much information for a non-confirmed scam, please let me know and I will remove his email address. My assumption is that he's in the shady business of bidding on cards that have the potential to explode (players in the playoffs) and then only paying if they actually do. But of course, that's only speculation.

Thanks for reading.

Thanks! He is clearly at least somewhat involved in the card community, as he was aware of COMC, and I saw in his feedback that he had bought or sold a couple high end cards in the past. But he also only has 249 feedback on eBay and his port on COMC is empty, so I don't know exactly how involved he is.

I know the guy personally and would vouch for him.

Something like this is WELL out of his character, so I'm surprised.

Could you please remove his email deets.

Email deets removed.

Maybe he just didn't have the funds? It happens. If that's the case, though, I wish he would have communicated. I even asked him in the invoice message (after the first two days of nonpayment) to let me know if he needed a little more time to pay. He never responded after that. I sent him another reminder about eight hours before eBay was set to get him the NPB strike just to make sure he didn't somehow think he had paid when he switched his mailing address to COMC.

Thank you both for following up on this.

For what it's worth, I did just receive an eBay apology from robbiewagga. It seemed genuine, and he assured me that this was the first time he's bid on a card for which he would not pay, and it would be the last.

Obviously, this has been a frustrating experience for me. Whether it cost me significant money is yet to be seen, as Brown RPAs are not selling for significantly worse than $1K, thankfully. I do feel a little bit better about the situation having some resolution, with the buyer acknowledging that it's not acceptable to bid on an item and then not pay.

I'm glad things are somewhat resolved. I believe significant damage has been done to the buyers reputation within Australian collecting circles, but that's neither here nor there. I apologise that you had to deal with such things.
