View Full Version : ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH THE FINALS - rare and mostly unseen KEMP stuff

My sincere apologies for posting on topic, but I thought some of you might enjoy this stuff. I had some better high quality scans, but I had to just throw these together.

Got this freebie from Dr. Buckunteer himself!

Three Japanese variants of these cards, scanned the back since we all know what the front looks like:

First two are Japanese Gold sig cards, you'll notice they don't have the foil finish like the standard release. I like them a lot. Also, we have the bronze parallel on the Heart & Soul card and the Stadium Club first day issue refractor, numbered to 100 and 25 respectively.

Some jumbo cards, including some extremely tough to find cards, primarily the big Collector's Choice, the die cut and the Finals card with Jordan:

I have two of these, so I thought the front / back display was neat.

I had NO IDEA the top two were jumbo cards until I received them, love these cards, they're amazing. The Collector's Choice one I didn't really know about and I'm very familiar with the Command Performers die cut next to it thanks to Don West!

Moving on and another EXTREMELY difficult card to find is another Japanese card that I've been chasing and hunting after ever since I found out it existed. It's part of a three card set which includes MJ and Penny, MJ is the easiest one to acquire:

Holy crap! That's quite the PC update. That Stadium Club Stat Wheel Spinner is way more rare than a lot of people realize. Those cards are sooooo hard to find. Little bit of info on there here http://www.blowoutcards.com/forums/basketball/928961-old-school-white-whale.html#post9964635

That card show credential pass is freaking awesome. The FDI Refractor /25 is a BEAST of a pickup too. Awesome stuff all around.

Hey, I'm in that thread! Pretty sweet reminder of the history on these cards. The credential pass was an absolute MUST HAVE for me, very unique item and getting the FDI in finally was a relief, between the bronze UD card and the FDI refractor, one of them is jersey numbered. :D

You and me both, the Kanji...or is it Kenji? I like the text on the back and of course the red foil Coast to Coast die cut was the major one for me...but the Japanese cards in general, I think are not so easy to find.

I wish I had Photoshop and was good at it because I would photoshop a bunch of Shawn Kemp cards in the hands of It the Clown because that's what you remind me of.

Also the Stadium Club First Day Issue refractor #ed to 25 is UNREAL! I know there are TONS of people that have that card on their wantlist for their PC player.

Love the oddballs!!!! There aren't nearly enough collectors that appreciate cards like those rare Japanese versions... and I'm not sure why! Most people probably don't know that TSC pinwheel is super rare too. Well done, sir!

Japanese coast to coast is a extremely rare card! I searched for years before I found a Penny for the PC. You said MJ was easier to find?
