Hey guys,

Since collecting a kid ~20 years ago, the Fleer Jordan rookie was, and always will be, THE card to have. I've always toyed around with pulling the trigger on one, but had a hard time justifying the price tag. Now that I'm out of school, into my career, and debt-free, I feel like now might be the time to finally bite the bullet and pick one up.

For now, I've settled on acquiring a PSA 8 with nice eye appeal. I don't really care too much about the subtle differences between a PSA 8 and PSA 9... just looking for a nice one that isn't beat to death or have any noticeable flaws.

I've lurked around on these boards for years, but never joined until recently... Even now, I rarely post, but enjoy reading a lot of the threads and following the hobby. I see a lot of "price manipulation" being theorized on Jordan rookies, so I'm curious how the forum feels about current prices. It seems as if I would be paying roughly $1,600 for a PSA 8 Jordan; is this reasonable in the current market? Are prices still artificially inflated, or is this a true market value? I know there are a lot of experts "in the know" with Jordan rookies and wanted to pick your brains before pulling the trigger.

Thanks.

This card is plentiful and has more space to cool off in value. Current prices are just about as high as they have ever been, so you will be buying at the peak with less room for growth going forward.

Prices are half what they were last year at this time in all grades. There was a massive run up last year. Go to PWCC auctions website and type in Michael Jordan 1986 fleer psa 8 in their history feature and you can kind of see how prices have tracked over the course of a couple years. There will be dates under the sale price. That is useful. Good luck.
