Not to offend you, but those are some pretty bad hours. Open 3 days a week, but don't even open till 3? I'd imagine you work a different job, but dang, how you expect to keep the lights on lol

Yea, that's the problem I'm running into right now. I'm still working a full time job (40-45 hours during the summer, as much as 55-60 during the week once school starts). So, I can only work limited hours for now.

I'm thinking about staying open a couple of hours later on Saturday. Maybe going 11-6 or something like that. I have thought about opening Sunday afternoons too. But our town shuts down on Sunday. It's church day. We live in a town of about 10k people with the average age about 60. So, anything after dark or on Sundays is a no-go I think.

But I have thought about changing my hours somewhat. Just not sure how I can do that. I know that Tuesday nights and Friday nights are out of the question. Those are the 2 biggest nights of working at my full time job.

I've had people tell me I should just quit my full time job and go all in with my card shop. But my wife (the opinion that matters) tells me otherwise. Plus, I think business would be slow until after school/work. So, opening at 3 p.m. really isn't too bad of a deal I don't think. That's when most of the traffic is out and about (picking up kids from school, leaving work, going to church, etc.)

Hope there's enough local traffic to keep the lights on.

Best of luck!

We just opened a year ago. My advice would be to find a way to stay open five days a week. We have went to seven days a week. Create a FB page, instagram and twitter account. Also, create a website. If you need any advice hit me up on FB.

With 10K population, in my opinion, you will need internet sales but it can be done. Good luck to ya. I'm rooting for ya.

Me too. I'm trying like heck to advertise it. I've got an ad running in the local paper every single day and I have Facebook, Twitter and a website. And thank you. I hope it works out.

I wish I could. But I've got to work a full time job in order to keep the shop. If I don't have the full time job, I'd have no way to pay my house, car, bills, etc. Also, I'd have no way of funding the shop. I didn't take out a loan of any kind for it.

Also, I have Facebook, Twitter and a site. I'm just trying to figure out the best way to sell online and what to sell. I'm currently selling on here (somewhat) and on ebay. Other than that, I have no idea where else to sell.
