There were enough bidders on that auction where you weren't going to get it for a steal anyway. Besides...this is the kind of stuff people should post on a forum about basketball cards.

Auction title gets locked once the listing goes live - guessing he will relist with the correct spelling of 'Kidd.'

Final auction values are only processed when the auction ends and not pulled early.

Whatever the auction was bid up to they treat that as a final value fee. If you cancel bids to bring the price down to the starting bid you are still charged whatever the bid was originally.

Exactly. Exquisite/Autograph/Patch. Either key word puts it in sight for those with the ability to grab it. I understand, although selfish, the need for a steal ;)

I highly doubt ebay can charge you for cancelling an auction if you have a legitimate reason.

Ebay is just hungry for Money! They figure out every possible way to charge money from seller, e.g. increase final value fee percentage, Paypal fee, charge final value fee for shipping cost, then charge final value fee if you end the listing early, charge will be based on the highest bid price. It happened to me before, there is no doubt Ebay will figure out more ways to charge seller.

Imagine if you were a Kidd collector and never saw this auction... I'd be furious! The misspelling was a huge oversight by the seller.

If anyone has been paying attention to EBay's selling promotions, they did a 10 free listing special.

If you listed something between the 31st and Aug 4th, those items would not have a final value fee charged.

That's likely what made the seller list his card. Even if he did end the auction, he would not be charged.
