Who you guys thinking makes a leap this year? Some guys I've got my eyes on are Porzingis, Aaron Gordon, Jamal Murray, Josh Richardson, Kyrie (to an MVP level), Zach Lavine when he gets back.

Myles Turner, only 21 can rebound defend and shoot 3s and is the only option on pacers right now.

I like this pick. Oladipo should improve also as Russ held him back last year. I can see Gary Harris having a big year as well as D'Angelo Russell.

I'm not saying he's a HOFer but I think Westbrook basically deciding everyone's actions and being so ball dominant put his growth on hold for a year.

Gary Harris is a good call, Porzingis will be the undisputed #1 man in NY, same with Myles Turner in Indiana.
Blake Griffin should go bananas stat wise in LA if he can stay healthy. I'm also keen to see what Jokic and Nurkic do in Denver and Portland, as well as KAT in Minny with more help. I'm kinda hoping for KG in 03-04 numbers from KAT when KG had Spree and Cassell with him.

Anybody who watched enough OKC basketball last year knows that it wasn't Westbrook holding Oladipo back, it was Oladipo holding Oladipo back.
They tried to let him be the guy in the 13 minutes a game that RWB was on the bench but the dude couldn't cut it. Not a bad player but nothing special.

D. Russell would have to average 30 to become an All Star, I don't see it. Too many better guards.
I think it's Joel Embiid and M. Turner.
A. Gordon is a great pick also, I just can't see Orlando winning a whole lot.
Dipo is so inconsistent, he goes on runs where he'll have 20/5/5/2 or something and then he'll go 8/3/3 on terrible shooting for a month. This season might be the year he's more consistent. I think he'll be good with that team.

I like Turner but not sure a breakout can happen with that team. Embiid is the obvious pick. Giannis and KAT I think can breakout further and go up another level to that super superstar level of Lebron and co. I like Buddy Hield the most, thon maker, dennis smith, stanley johnson. I think Buddy goes crazy and that Sac team sneaks up on people Buddys Sacremento stats were pretty great last year. The team is sneaky deep young and old. Great mix!

Kyrie might break out to MVP-level. He's obviously already an all star and possibly a superstar (depending on who you ask), but I think Kawhi and Kyrie are the best choices for MVP this year without actually seeing what happens after the season's over. Maybe Giannis too. If there was anything to take away from last year's MVP voting, MVP isn't given to best player in the league or the player on the 1st or 2nd seed team necessarily. It's beginning to shift a little.

KAT will never be LBJ this year terms of tier nor Gianni's.. light years away from being superstars
Give me Dennis smith jr over buddy any day !!!
Lillard for scoring champ and potential MVP
Nurkic and Jokic are breakout

Totally agree with M Turner and D Russell picks.
My sleeper pick would also be Buddy Hield. His productivity before and after the trade is eye opening in his rookie year.
NO - 8.6 pts / 2.9 reb / 1.4 ast on 39.3% shooting (20.4 mpg, 57 games)
SAC - 15.1 pts / 4.2 reb / 1.8 ast on 48.0% shooting (29.1 mpg, 25 games)
Not out of the question he goes for 17/5/3 this year, which would be a nice leap from his rookie campaign. No doubt he's going to get some minutes on a very young Kings team.

Yeah. If Skal and Hield both do well and kings go above 50% in the first 20 games...the hype might start

So a player is expected to be an afterthought on offense for most of the game, and then when Russ goes to the bench for a few minutes here and there that player is supposed to just turn on some imaginary switch and take over games?
And despite that terrible fit for Oladipo he still hit his career average in points per game (even with a career low usage rate), and had career highs in FG%, 3PT% and eFG% and a career low in turnovers per game. I'd say he was just fine for OKC and his "struggles" have been greatly exaggerated.

I can see Gary Harris having a big year as well as D'Angelo Russell.
Harris already broke out last yeah IMHO, but I hear ya. He was also injured for a few months so I'd like to see where he's at after a full heathy season.

I think KAT takes the next step this year. Top 10 player by the end of the season. Butler and Taj will rub off on him and he'll become an adequate defender.
I may be a homer of sorts, but I also think Ricky Rubio breaks out in Utah. He was so good the second half of last year and it has carried over to the preseason. The new setting, a little fire under his ass, some newfound confidence. I think Utah will be pleasantly surprised.
And yeah, obviously, Ray McCallum.

Taurean Prince is someone not enough people are talking about. He really stepped up in the playoffs last year. The minutes are going to be there as a starter. He averaged like 5ish PPG last season and would be surprised if that goes up to 13-15 with a good dose of rebounds.

Yea I definitely don't consider last year a breakout for Harris with all the injuries and sporadic play. If he plays 75 games this year he will make a big impact.

It's D'angelo's team in Brooklyn. He's going to be a stat monster this year.
If Godzingis can stay healthy. Stop laughing, I'm a Knicks fan.
Ben Simmons will average something stupid like 18 points, 8 assists and 8 rebounds to win ROY.
And the Knicks will win the title! ...the year after Dolan sells the team.

Lol.
He's on all the physical tools. I don't think he has the brain unfortunately. I do think he will be on an nba roster this season. Likely not with the jazz though.
The most obvious place to look for break out players is where stars have left a gaping hole in the roster. Enter Rodney hood. Donovan Mitchell will take some of those shots/minutes, but Rodney hood looks to be the favorite to lead the jazz in scoring by most experts - i personally would give Gobert the advantage though. Rubio is going to feed that guy like crazy, and with the imporoved footwork, I don't personally think it's crazy that Gobert might average 18-20 ppg this season.

Early guess to all-rookie team:
Lonzo Ball, Dennis Smith Jr, Ben Simmons, Josh Jackson, D'Aaron Fox
Donovan Mitchell and Jayson Tatum fall to 2nd team mainly because they will start out slower with their teams being in better situations. I'm not sold on Lonzo but he'll have every opportunity to earn a spot and has more hype than anyone. Probably a guy like Kuzma will be 2nd team or sneak into 1st team if he really blows up...there's always a later pick that gets in.

Probably doesn't quite fit the mold as a true "breakout," but I think JaMychal Green is going going to set career highs in most stats this season. Yeah, he's already 27 and has no hobby following whatsoever, but with Z-Bo out of town, Parsons and Wright's inability to stay healthy, and no real other front court depth, I think he realistically could go 14/10 with decent percentages.

Nuh uh lol. He's a good defender but just never developed on the offensive end and I don't think he will develop an offensive game. He's remade his jump shot two out of the last three off-seasons.
If there is anyone that "breaks out" for the Hornets it will be Lamb due to his increased minutes because of Batum's injury. He's pretty stiff but is a decent scorer. Both rookies, Monk and Bacon, should be solid this season. They have looked good in the preseason.

This year, i think giannis will even break out further and in to the realm of true superstar.
But,.... the person i think is going to explode this year for real is..........
Tim Hardaway Jr.
I will also put Norman Powell in my top 3 to round it out.

It's official Bolomboy is free to go to the superteam of his choice.
Utah has announced that they have waived Joel Bolomboy. The $1.3M contract for Bolomboy was guaranteed this season. The $1.5M salary in 2018-19 was non-guaranteed.

I think KAT n Gianni's will be recognized by everybody as super stars by the end of year...
Hoping Jae Crowder gets more exposure because Lebron and Kyrie either takes it up a notch or gets exposed on new team....
Wiggins is an athletic freak who can score ..... hoping Jimmy Butler rubs off on him and then those two plus KAT go up because they make playoffs....
Myles Turner and Embiid can also go up a level and if Embiid is healthy and Simmons is as good as advertised then watch out!!!
Porzingis is the King of NY now......and someone has got to score leaving either D Russell or Linsaninty as his Queen....
Beal is an all-star in East. Hopefully Porter or Oubre play well (like John Wall wish he has prizm rc)....
Schroeder kills it for Hawks.... Prince takes step up....
Rodney Hood scores 20+ as Utahs go to guy....
Hoping Jalen Brown and Winslow earn minutes to score.

I agree with this, especially since Jabari going to miss some time recovering from the injury.
I think Jerian Grant could surprise people. He might get the start for Chicago. Could just end up being big numbers on a bad team tho (same for Justin Holiday).

I agree with most of this. More I saw of Jaylen Brown at the end of last season and this pre season leads me to believe he could take a few steps forward esp in an uptempo Kyrie led offense
As a Dallas fan I think Nerlens Noel will improve. Crazy to think he's still only 23 but should avg a double double with 1.5 - 2 blocks a game . Hopefully he plays 30 min a game and stays healthy
