Something Interesting... Was/Is Panini close to having KG autos?

KG hasn't signed cards in a long time but I just saw this auction:

Which is a printing plate for a KG 'Now and Then Signatures' card from Flawless 2015. The card was never made, but maybe it was a sign that they were close to getting KG to put some ink to card that year?

Either way, I thought it was an interesting card that could garner some discussion. Any other plates/cards that have come up like this for other players that don't normally sign?

I think this is great. At least it shows Panini is trying to get him. It would be awesome for if he signs again soon.

Blowout detectives... The auto kinda looks familiar (although with the 5 added and maybe other stuff) but I haven't had any luck figuring out who he took and stuck on this KG card. Any ideas?

It's strange alright that they should do this. I seem to remember a KG plate from eminence that was a Twolves card and it never showed up.

It's much like the plates from Eminence that were released in 16-17 NT. They made the cards just in case they were able to reach an autograph deal with the players.
