Watch prizm prices fall, and watch it suddenly become VERY available.

Doubt it, its heavily allocated and because of the transition to only jumbos, there are much less overall boxes. Last years rookie class was horrendous and prizm was still impossible to find under $200. I preordered a case and was allocated 0 boxes from my ditributor

You do realize that 11 rookies scored in double figures in their debut. The all-time NBA record is 13. And a handful of those who didn't looked really strong in their debut. This is a really deep class.

What are you talking about? This couldn't be farther from the truth unless by "rookies" you mean just Lonzo.

Across the board this draft is absolutely loaded with talent and the rookies have looked pretty darn good.

Prizm RC prices for the top guys will be absurd out of the gate due to the absurd box prices. You can quote me in that. Best to wait until supply outpaces demand, which it will within a few weeks of release, and buy then.

I still may wait until this overhyped season is over myself and go after some Prizm cards I'm missing from other years. I have a feeling stuff is going to be up across the board as we're already seeing record high box/case prices. Pannini and distributors are going to milk this hyped class for ever penny they can.

Even if we're just talking Lonzo. Ingram averaged 9 pts, 4 rbs and 2 ast and his silver Prizm is still over $100 raw.

Generally, those top guys (and all Prizm RC's) get flooded for the first 4-6 weeks. If you buy say 3-4 months later, you won't be getting any deals.

If you could chart it the top guys all dip around that 4-6 week mark as the market is flooded. After that people have now graded plenty and those who picked up will not let them go cheaply.

If you wait to long I think you'll end up paying more.

4-6 weeks sounds about right. And yeah, I fully agree that if you wait too long you'll likely pay more. But that only really goes for the most hyped up guys (or lakers rookies lol) and whether they pan out or not. If they don't you'll probably overpay in the long run. I guess that's the gamble though.. Lol

I guess I'm just going to wait and see what prices look like out of the gate. I'm not expecting a Towns silver for $40, those days are gone, lol. But I'm definitely not paying $200+ for guys who only play 5 mins a game just because they're hyped up and so is Prizm lately. That's kinda what I'm getting at. As much as I like Prizm I might just focus on other stuff this year if it's too crazy. I only have some much disposable income.. [emoji3]

Rookies are rarely good in their first season. Even the elite guys had a lot of struggles. I hope it does go down though, would love to stock up on some of these players.

Prizm price won't fall, but it also will not increase nonstop. Who's busting 12-13, 15-16, or even 16-17 Prizm? No one cuz price is too high.

Depends on what Prizms you want...if you're just after Base and Silver Prizm's, I'd wait until a couple weeks after retail hits the local Targets and Walmart.

Dillon Brooks: 19 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 4 steals, 2 blocks (probably a fluke game but who knows)

Ben Simmons: 18 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals, 1 block

Lauri Markkanen: 17 points, 8 rebounds

Dennis Smith Jr. : 16 points, 3 rebounds, 10 assists

D'Aaron Fox: 14 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists (24 minutes)

John Collins: 14 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals

Josh Jackson: 11 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist (pretty bad)

Jayson Tatum: 11 ppg, 9.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists in 2 games

Fultz had a decent game off the bench (10 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist in 19 minutes)

Donovan Mitchell struggled shooting (10 points, 1 rebound, 4 assists, 1 block)

Issac in Orlando doesn't play much, Dwyane Bacon starts for the Hornets but didn't do a lot, Kyle Kuzma struggled, Malik Monk struggled with his shooting (1-9).

Of course Lonzo Ball struggled with Beverly on him; 3 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists. He'll do better than this in the future but a lot of guys are gunning for him because of his dad.

My point is that in 16/17 10.2 ppg, 2.8 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and 1.1 steals won rookie of the year, this year is a lot better.

I thought the first couple games were insane. Every time I flipped through league pass I was seeing a kid I wasn't familiar with (I'm not into college at all) getting major minutes.

At least I saved this thread with an entertaining podcast.

I almost forgot how inane the boards get once the season starts, as piles and piles of junk league talk push down the card threads.
