I don't typically collect basketball but i want to pick up some Tatum rookies. What are the top products in basketball for rookies? NT, and Prizm? Optic? Thanks in advance

Prizm Silver rookie is the main one to look for besides NT RPA's. Optic is still young so nobody knows how great it will be but I think it has room to be a solid 2nd option for a base rookie.

For early on in season though get as many prizm rookies as you can get your hands on.

If I had to guess it would again be the basic holo parallel, the standard refractor. Gold's are always nice but most the other parallels drown each other out and have less value than a basic silver.

As mentioned, it's 100% the Silver Prizm. After that it's NT. And then after that there's a bit of debate.

When do these products typically come out? I'm almost exclusively baseball but want to pick up some of his rc's since I've been watching him since high school.

How much do you think the silver prizms will go for if i wanted to pick a few up once the product is released? Another question, if i wanted to buy group breaks of the Celtics how much do you think that would be per case?

Prizm is really expensive this year. Expect to pay a lot even if Tatum doesn't keep playing well. I'm not sure on exact GB prices.

Based on the questions you are asking OP I'm assuming you want to grab a few key rookies to stash. Prizm is going to be a high risk gamble for that. It's a very hot product right now, the retail price is the highest it's ever been and it is a highly anticipated rookie class. The prices for silver and gold prizms out the gate for key rookies are likely going to be the highest we've seen. If you want cards for the PC a Tatum silver Prizm for sure. I personally think Optic will be the long term investment. I think the key is to find the release that people aren't anticipating being so popular or try to find the underappreciated rookie that will jump in the upcoming years. Ball, Fultz and Tatum will have to develop into the next top 10 player in order to make the Prizm stuff investment cards this year IMO.

I would go with NT and Immac for nicest RCs, but if going for most popular you have to include Prizm and potentially optic.

Optic are on card autos is that correct? Why do silver prizms command so much value? It's not that way in football, they're hardly worth anything in comparison to their other cards. Are they rare per case or something? I guess i don't understand why they're so valuable without an auto.

I think Tatum will be a stud. He's playing about 35 mins a game, that's pretty rare for a rookie isn't it? Plus im a Celtics fan, so that's kind of why i want to collect him.

With case prices at $2700, you're looking at the Celtics being $225 give or take a few $'s to start.

Optic was sticker autos this past year, unlike football which were on card. I was told they were sticker autos because Optic was a late season add to the basketball schedule. I don't know if they will be on card or sticker next year though.

Did not know that. If they are on card that could be a game changer? I don't like sticker autos.
