Why the bgs label didn't say card is altered?

Yep I've been watching that one. Not sure why it doesn't say altered but I asked and it is DEF recolored per probstein.

Edit: Looks like the corners are darker red.

Isn't it possible to submit cards with a request to only authenticate the card as "authentic"? I thought the "authentic altered" would result from an attempt to get a grade on a card, hence the explanation as to why they couldn't assign a numeric grade.

Colored red corners. Very ODD BGS didn't mark this altered, which it clearly is.
