I get that he's arguably the best player on the Vikings, but his Contenders auto going for almost as much as (for instance) Russell Wilson? Guy's 27 with 2000+ career receiving yards. Am I missing something here?

I believe his Contenders auto may be his only rookie auto. If it isn’t, he may have a couple more but the Contenders is undoubtedly the cream of the crop of all his cards. That’s why

Buy high ---> sell low.

The contenders is his only rookie auto. And select is his only other true rookie card. So Im assuming the small numbers accoubt for some of the price jump. I am a huge Thielen fan but they do seem a little outrageous at this point.

Makes more sense if Contenders is his only auto...... but still some craziness

This is what happens when supply does not exceed demand. Are you paying attention Panini? Of course you aren't. I am sure they are on the phone with Thielen ordering 20000 stickers.

What kind of tool lists a card for 1000's of dollars and then charges $3 in shipping? completely asinine.

Adam Thielen is an awesome player, and an even better person. Considering his autograph has been rare, and really wont be after Panini releases the 10k stickers they have from him, I could not be happier that he has had this type of success.

He was at the event I went to Friday, and was seriously amazing to everyone there. The guy deserves all of this attention.

The shipping charge is usually pre loaded into the seller's platform. There is little to no chance that he even looked at the shipping charge, much less thought about it. It is an inconsequential detail the seller missed. Why do you care?

One that understands that the buyer should have the options of how they want the card to ship and that the buyer should pay for any upgraded shipments.

If the buyer has an issue with it, they can adjust the price with a best offer.

Seems rather silly, when someone is paying thousands for a card that the seller should eat shipping.

They are paying attention and that's why they're ordering 20000 stickers! Panini doesn't care about after market value, just box sales.

My question is why he has a card people are treating as a RC in 2016 when he came out after the 2013 draft??? Can anyone explain this?

Because it's his first card... Rookie Card.

The first card of a player is his Rookie Card. Doesn't have to come out the first year he is in the league. It's still his first card.

Part of the appeal is he’s from MN and went to college in MN so he already had a following before he contributed a lot

That’s what is great when an undrafted free agent hits it big

He also had 2 cards in 2016 from Panini Instant NFL, that you could order each week. I think after week 5 against the Texans when he had 127 yards and a td and week 16 after the Packers game in which he had 202 yards and 2 tds.

They had print runs of like 122 for Texans and 137 for Packers, not positive on the Texans one as I couldn't find any on ebay. I have the Packers one so I know that is 137.

Pretty rough game this past weekend and got Panthers next. Still a big fan. Like the underdogs.

Granted it wasn't a great game, but 4 for 51 isn't terrible. He still led the Vikings in receiving and more than doubled up Juilo's 2 for 24.
