Has anyone else had issues with people paying on ebay lately? I feel like I have to open non payment claims anytime anyone buys anything these days....and we are talking cards that are valued less than $10

Yep, im about to neg a person with 100% feedback score. I don't want to but i had an auction end on Dec 3 and the guy still hasn't paid. He sent me message about a week and a half ago saying he'd have the money the middle of this week but no payment received yet. I don't understand why people buy things if they don't have the money. Whenever i buy something i pay immediately, maybe im the minority. I dunno.

And when people say I'll get the money by midweek I'm like just use your darn credit card linked via PayPal if you have to. I've had a few recently.

Yes had a guy do a bin/bo no communication and never paid. Worst part is you can't leave them a negative, they get a unpaid buyer strike, like that really means anything.

Youre not the minority. I've never once bought something and not paid immediately.

I also put in my auctions, "payment due immediately"

I've had a couple of buyers not pay, so I will send them a friendly note that payment was due immediately. If 24 hours go by, and I don't get it, I will cancel everything.
Luckily, Its never happened, so Ive probably been lucky to have decent and fair people buying. I simply have no time to chase after people, nor should I have to.

If you purchase something, have the common decency to pay for it.

I agree with this completely.

As a seller you aren't negging anyone on EBay.

If you cancelled an auction I won because I didn't pay within 24 hours of auction end, I'd leave you negative feedback.
That's a sleazy move used by slimy sellers who don't want to sell the item at the price it went for.

Yeah, what's up with this? You can't make someone pay immediately on EBay through an auction no matter how many times you mention it in your listings. They have a minimum of 2 days to pay before you can even start the process. If you start canceling winners bids after 24 hours you are going to get negatives.

Oh, well that's too bad. Guess i'll just have to cancel it. Im glad they wasted my time.

I expect payment within 24 hours. If I don't get it, I email the buyer and say what's up? Usually they pay up then. Like someone mentioned, demanding the payment immediately and cancelling if you don't get it within 24 hours will might get you booted off ebay if it's reported as that's a low move for sure.

The best offers sometimes pisses me off. If you make a best offer eBay should hold the money and then when I accept it the payment goes through immediately. Several times do the peopl just not pay. Frustrating.

Relax pitchforkers, it was a typo.

I use a template for my auctions that I created a while back, for ease of listing.
It requests payment in 48 hrs. Which is by documented rules.

Point still remains. Pay fo yo sheeet.

Meanwhile, getting a combined invoice from several sellers has been a real pain as of late. Goes both ways folks. Guess people are just too busy to honor commitments.

Ok, now that I have time to adequately reply to this..

I CAN and I WILL DEMAND Immediate payment, because Ebay ALLOWS it.

My listing states (and is within the rules) that immediate payment is required, but then I say that if I dont receive it within 48hrs, I am free to retain legal ownership and relist if I wish. Once again, WITHIN EBAY RULES because the items I sell (their values) are time sensitive.

You'll be the only one getting a neg if you purchase something from me and wait all week to pay me, as I will simply contact Ebay, and show them their own rules thus removing any neg you think youre allowed to hit me with.

Been dealing with a couple on OBOs. Come on, really?

I don't see any reason why negative feedback can't be posted if you have a successful NPB case. Sellers have a right to know what they're getting into.

You really have no idea what you are talking about. Honestly you are totally incorrect nearly word for word in that diatribe you posted.

You just linked up rules for a BIN listing. When you and we were talking about auctions.

Well it looks like you might be in the wrong thread, because I was talking about non paying bidders as was the poster of the thread, until some posters decided to call me out on the verbiage of my reply, to which I posted the rules that I go by when posting items for sale.

Now I admit that in my previous post, I wrote auctions, but if you look at my past sales, everything is a BIN.

So, in closing...I am following the rules, I can require immediate payment, I backed that stance up with the proper link showing the rules that I abide by, you wont neg me, and you should try to get back on the point of the thread, which is that buyers that don't pay are a nuisance.

Requiring Immediate payment on BIN listings makes NPB a null issue, as the item has either been purchased and paid for, or it is still for sale. Therefore, all of your posts are very confusing (maybe it's just me).

I agree, but its because I didn't anticipate having to literally discuss the minutia of my sales.
I put up a BIN with a BO option, and field offers.
When a seller and I agree via BO, the listing ends but payment is not made until they make it.

I just had a non payer and it is such BS you can't leave then feedback....especially negative feedback. Or when a seller cancels you won auction because he felt it sold low. You can't leave that guy feedback either because he cancelled the transaction and refunded you. I always pay immediately unless it is a something a day or 2 out from payday and a bigger ticket item I don't want to spread myself thin on to buy it. I will contact the seller before hand and let them know I would like to purchase but won't be able to pay for a day or 2. In 14+ years I have never had an issue paying or had a seller tell me no.

You can most definitely leave a neg if a seller cancels and refunds you.
