All very preliminary, but looks eBay will be moving to Adyen as its primary payment processor (still supporting PayPal users), with rumors of Adyen providing seller discounts, which make sense because under the structure reported, the two would be competing to some degree with Adyen having a structural advantage through the website.

They will be a slightly more affordable option until Paypal is phased out entirely...at which point fees will go up again. Also expect eBay to eliminate the customer’s ability to see seller’s email address. IMO this is going to be bad. Big Brother is alive and well.

Does this mean that eventually as a seller on eBay I will need to open another account, this time with Adyen?

By 2023 yes and more than likely to get your eBay discount as a top Rated Seller probably by 2020.

So how is Adyen’s dispute actions policy vs PayNotMyPal?

Based on some of the European reviews I am reading they are even more buyer friendly.

I read where they allowed a return 270 days later, so buyer good, seller bad.

I'm saying that they are going to work with eBay to setup a system with them, until I see that I am being reserved

You are exactly right!! Ebay never passes on the discounts they get on to the seller. Rather they charge you extra fees and essentially pocket the discount they are supposed to give to the users. USPS shipping discounts are a prime example of this. The USPS gives ebay users a discounted shipping rate when you purchase the shipping through ebay. Ebay then charges you a FVF on the shipping you charge your customers.

Bottom line, it's business. Ebay is doing it for their bottom line and executive bonuses, not for the users.

This may be a complete nonissue but I'm no big time ebay seller, will USPS integration still exist?

EBay is a business to make profit. Still by far the cheapest, largest and less time consuming option out there and let's you become a business pretty dang easily.
Ayden is a processing platform I believe. Which means no account and eBay will deposit payments into your bank account just like when you swipe your card at a grocery store and the store gets paid.
PayPal offers 180 days of protection - ONLY once have I had a person even try outside of 30 days. And only twice have I had chargebacks and never have I lost a case. So really, is a 270 day return policy really changing anything?

Holy hell, 270 days? I'm struggling to think of something someone could own for nine months and then return.
I can't recall off the top of my head one thing I bought in May of 2017 let alone want to return it now.

If eBay really switched to a 270 (hassle free) day return policy, I have to imagine you would see a mass exodus from sellers.

Why? This is just chicken little thinking. How often do buyers use the 180 day that's currently available now? Its still not going to change the ebay return policy and that detours more buyers than paypals 180.

i generally agree... and if people start doing this type of stuff,, you can bet the cheated sellers will get theirs by trying to screw that same buyer off of another account by purchasing from them. when money is involved people will find a way to get back what is theirs; honestly or dishonestly

So no one's gonna talk about how buyers will no longer pay sellers directly? They must pay ebay, and ebay will hold them funds and later release them to the seller? Not really sure this new systems benefits sellers much at all. People area already complaining about not seeing their money for up to two weeks.

It's no different than what a grocery store or Wal-Mart uses to get paid when you swipe your card. They're a processing company not a money holding company. For me even if they just knock off the 30 cents PayPal charges and keeps same 2.9% it's still close to $1000 in savings a month.
We don't know the costs yet, we don't know the delay in payment yet but I'm sure if you're a proven seller who is honest you'll see no more than a 3 day delay. The same amount it takes to process a credit card.
