Another look at Muhammad Ali set

On Sunday, we had a quick peek at some of the rarest cards in the Muhammad Ali trading card set Leaf Trading Cards is producing.
Slowly, Leaf is letting a few pictures trickle out as its teases collectors with this set that should be released in February. This time there are five cards from a subset that include associates, fans and opponents of the greatest boxer in history.
While these cards are the autograph versions, which are all numbered to 5, there are more common versions of these cards available in the product.
Of this group, my favorites are the ones where there is a picture with Ali. Leaf is obviously limited to certain pictures, but they definitely used pictures they had with Ali whenever possible.
How do you feel this set is shaping up?

I think I heard under $90 per box with Ali autos falling at the rate of 1 per 2 cases.

Late February, and I think around $89/box.
12 boxes per case, so Ali should fall 1 in 24 boxes. Only 399 cases produced.

Sounds like a killer product. Do you know if they're pre-selling it yet?

Here's a picture of the actual "fight-worn" trunks that were cut up and inserted into this product. They come from the Oscar Bonavena fight that took place on December 7th, 1970:

Are those red trunks? ;)
Keep in mind that not all memorabilia is "fight-worn". Most will be event-worn, but those that are actually fight-worn should command a nice premium.
It's a pretty exciting product if you ask me.

Yes those are red trunks and we knew about these it was clearly said before, these also cost 30,000+ dollars cause of rock solid Provence. But sk ringside where training with ALI block letters, still waiting for you to provide pictures of those. How much where those again? But keep deflecting it almost makes you look like you know what you are talking about and that you have a point.
And remember how easy it said in the auction it would be to find a picture of those SK trunks. I guess you found it right cause it was easy?
Maybe you can read up on the amount of fake ali used items on that site also. You may learn a thing, and we cant have that.

Oh boy, here we go again.
I have nothing to prove. I know what's right. I'm not wrong. You can't handle that...I know. Good try.

Im not much of a follower in the boxing world. I know some of the big names (Ali, Jones Jr., Mayweather, Pacquio (sp?), Frazier, ect.), but I might consider picking myself up one of these boxes! These are sharp looking cards that I would enjoy having!

People thought Pop Century, MMA, Vault,Rookie Retro etc would be good and provided very little value. Personally I dont think this product will be worth more than $50-60 a box after a couple months
Too much recent "event" worn stuff for me. Might as well be manufactured patches. Like Wheeler said, the rare actual fight used stuff will command a big premium.
