Colts have agreed to a five-year deal with Frank Reich, per NFL.com.

Wonder if Reich tries to bring any Eagles staff over or if they would block that. Or would Reich want to try to honor any of the agreements of the guys McDaniels was going to bring over who had not signed their contract with Indy.

While he doesn't have to do that, that would be pretty cool of him to do.

While it would be cool, a heck of a story and the WANT to beat the Patriots even more than before, the hard part to accept is and being a Debbie Downer:
Patriots are still the Patriots and the Colts are still the Colts. Nothing has changed unless Luck comes back and the Colts have a heck of a draft with players that come in and start right away.
I have no money in the game between the two teams but I hope Reich can get the Colts going in the right direction.

So they didn't change their names during the offseason?

It's like they were the NE Colts on defense during the Super Bowl

Negotiations once Jimmy Irsay got his uppers to even out his downers early Sunday afternoon:
"Hey Frankie boy, not sure if you heard, but we need more offense in this flyover state. Wanna come be a HC for a year or so?"
"Ya know Jimmy, I got me a ring. Might as well take a shot at this whole HC thing. You run a good program here. I'm sure this'll work out."

Best of luck to Frank, sad to see him go but happy to see him get a HC job. Wish this happened sooner, could have promoted DeFilippo to OC before he bounced. But hopefully Duce gets a shot at the OC position.

Reich doesn't really have a choice on the agreements for the guys McDaniels asked to bring in. Matt Eberflus has a signed contract to be the DC for the Colts and the new OL and DL coaches also have signed contracts in place. The Colts have no choice but to honor those contracts, whether Reich wants those guys on his staff or not.
On Eberflus, Chris Ballard has been adamant that he is the guy he wanted for the DC position. They have a history together and it has sounded more and more like Eberflus was a Ballard call more than a McDaniels call anyway. I honestly don't know much about the OL and DL coaches they signed.

If you watched the Chris Ballard press conference last week, he has said that the coaching candidates he has in mind, Frank being one of them at the time of the presser, agreed to retain the coaches that the Colts had already had placed under contract and that the Colts were not going to abandon those coaches.

Ballard in an honorable man. Eberflus has been at the Colts facility working for over 2 weeks now. I like that.

Touche! I don't know how to put one of the 'thingamajigs' over the e like those fancy Frenchies do.
Know what I'm sayin'? And it's pronounced 'touchy' in case you didn't know :p

It's nice to see someone act honorably in this mess. I have some questions about Ballard's ability to judge character after what happened, but I don't have many questions about his character nor the character of the coach he just hired Frank Reich, by all accounts, seems to be a really great man. Pagano is a great man, too, but I hope Reich is far better at managing personnel and making coaching decisions that Pagano.

From all the quotes I've read about Reich, coming from players who played for him and even Marv Levy who coached him, Reich is amazing when it comes to game day preparation. Coming off of Pagano that will be an awesome thing to experience because it seemed like Pagano's biggest weakness was having the team prepared for game day.

Man, that was the only part of Ballard’s press conference that didn’t sit with me, but a lot of Colts fans are pumped so it served its purpose.
