Colts get

6th pick, 37th, 49th, 2019 2nd round pick

Jets get

3rd pick

Jets have their target n probably assume that the giants aren’t selecting a qb. Now they just gotta hope the giants don’t trade the pick to the bills or a different team who want to trade up to pick a qb. Maybe the jets trade up to #2 now w the giants? Could be interesting.

Colts definitely won considering they didn’t even need that high of a pick. Not a bad trade for jets either if they feel that strongly about a certain prospect.

Seems like a GREAT haul for Indy. Maybe they can actually draft well this year..... Or Take a WR at 6, then another WR 37, RB 49 and Safety at their second round pick.

Jets gave up a lot but it was necessary. You do whatever it takes to draft a franchise QB.
Love it.

Any chance anyone think that if the browns and giants go QBs 1 and 2 that the Jets take Barkley at 3

RAV2773

This probably forces the Browns to take a QB with the #1 pick instead of going Barkley #1 and a QB #4.

Thats a huge haul for the Colts. 3 second rounders to drop down 3 spots? I'll never understand. If its a QB they are after, one of Darnold, Allen or Rosen should be sitting there at 6 with Barkley, Chubb and Fitzpatrick bound to go in the top 5. Indy could even trade out of 6 now seeing they don't need a QB. Could see the Colts having a late first rounder and 4-5 second rounders. Well played Indy.

Why wouldn’t they draft OL at 6? That seems like a perfect spot to take best OL or even minkah if he falls that far

You are not considering all factors involved such as other QB needing teams potentially trading up and pick the top 4 QBs in the draft. This guarantees they get one of the QB. It was necessary for a team starved for franchise QB for decades.

Why not? They are bridge QBs both only signed for 1 year. Whoever they draft can sit 1 year and learn from two high character guys.

One of those bridge players will be either riding the bench unless the other gets hurt. Don't need two.

The drafted QB will be riding the bench. McCown will be the starting QB. Bridgewater the backup.
The rook will be holding the clipboard the whole year and learn. Nothing wrong with that.

I think good chance Barkely is there at 4 now. Browns go QB at 1. Bills trade up to 2 and take QB. Jets take QB at 3 leaves Barkley there at 4 for Browns and then question is does Denver take last 1st round draftable QB at 5?

Jets had to pay up a bit, but seems like fair price. They probably could have snagged a 4th or 5th as part of the deal. Value per Jimmy Johnson's value chart - https://www.pro-football-reference.com/draft/draft_trade_value.htm

Jets Receive
Pick #03 - 2200 pts.
Total = 2200 pts.

Colts Receive
Pick #06 - 1600 pts.
Pick #37 - 530 pts.
Pick #49 - 410 pts.
2019 2nd Rd. - Probably 400-500 pts.
Total = Around 3000 pts.

Duke Johnson is just a guy noting special. Hyde my guess you can get out from under that contract after only a year being only 3 year deal.

This 100% means QB’s are going 1/2/3

Giants absolutely take this trade if they weren’t taking a QB. They don’t turn down this offer for Barkley, Nelson, etc...

Browns have to go QB at 1 to get their guy

Just a matter of what order. It’s a lock that Barkley and Chubb are there at 4

packman80
03-17-2018, 01:46 PM
For Bills to go 2 they would have to give up both 1st both 2nds and maybe another pick as those two picks are worth 2690 will the Giants have 2600 on the 2nd. The Giants might want more then just breaking even to slide down 10 spots in the first round.

Not necessarily.....because if they dont trade down (which I still think is a possibilty because Denver might still want to move up) then they might be taking Barkley at #2 if The Browns do indeed take a QB #1. They could still think that Davis Webb is the heir apparent to Eli and might want to bring in the stud RB to be a main cog to go along with the other playmakers they already have....OBJ, Engram and Shepard. They're trying to win now with Eli there for only a couple more years. If they feel Webb is the future, then Barkley would be a perfect fit for them.

Zero chance Giants take a RB if the Jets offered them this trade. They are sticking at 2 for a QB

Is it possible they didn't want their cross town rival to get the big QB? Not saying it's the case, but you never know with owners. Maybe they wanted next years one as well from the Jets. Can't rule anything out at this point.

No. That’s not possible. This is the NFL

They want a QB.

How often does a team, with a HOF starter, end up Top 2 to get his ready made replacement? It’s rare. It was the perfect storm of crap for the NYG last year.

If they didn’t want a QB they trade with the Jets.

They know they can take a guy like Rosen and let him sit for a year and theoretically still be set for a decade

Didn't say he will start any games for them.....I'm just saying that it's not impossible. Maybe they thought Webb wasn't ready to start last year, and in reality they don't need him to start for the next 1-2 years because it's still Eli's team. So who's to say that he wouldn't be ready within the next 2 years? I'm not going to say that you're wrong or that you're right, because anything can happen from now until then, but I don't think the Giants will take a QB with the #2 pick because there's not one QB that is viewed head and shoulders above the other 4. I actually think that they will trade down and get more picks. As I said, no one knows what will happen, but it's gonna be fun to watch.

Stinking Browns are committed to Hyde and Duke Johnson/Browns have engaged in extension talks b/c they absolutely wants to keep him..They will pass Barkley twice..

I like what the Jets did signing Bridgewater and McCown back, both deals aren't crazy money and they aren't married to either of them.

Teams tend to sign guys at a position of need before they draft them, its insurance for when the draft goes sideways.

I cant believe Browns whole front office will attend Darnold's pro day workout this week.I remember Clueless Jackoff bragged about Cody Kessler..his completion percentage and his amazing accuracy..he even told the fans to trust him on this one..We all know about the coach's USC connection and he doesnt even know what the hell he's doing..he is such a master manipulator. That's all he is. He even compared Kizer to Roethlisberger and turned his back on Kizer at the end of season..

Duke Johnson is just a guy noting special. .

duke johnson is a stud. probably the mvp of the browns last year. 74 catches, 693 yards. over 1000 yards from scrimmage. he's up there with laveon bell as the game's best pass catching running backs. if the coaching staff was smart they'd also give him 20 carries a game instead of the 4-5 per game he got last year.
