Is this normal for cards that don't have the "jumbo" swatch on it?

Yeah - even though they are pretty ugly I've seen a few others like that. There is an AP or Sydney Rice (one of those Vikes rooks) like that on fleabay too.

Yeah, that's the way they did it this year. Whomever designed that should be fired and whomever let that make it to the packs should be fired as well.

The only ones I've seen were all auto's, Looks like the replaced the Jumbo Swatch with the hologram so they could ut the auto on something.

The holograms are actually pretty nice looking, I run into the same problem when I scan a card like that - the reflectivity wreaks havoc with the scanner trying to figure out the color.
