I hit a Mahomes Contenders horizontal SP auto (non-numbered). The last 3 have sold on eBay for $350, $430, and $375 all ungraded. Only 6 prior to mine have been graded, and all have come back BGS 9 with 3 10 auto grades and 3 9 auto grades.

I got an email today about my card being graded a 9.5 meaning it is the highest one graded through BGS :D, however received a 9 on the auto:doh:.

How do you guys think the 9.5/9 is valued compared to the 9/10 or compared to the raw cards already sold?

Thank you guys in advance for your help!

Most of his autos this year have been really bad, with that being said I believe his 10 autos will bring a premium and his 9s will be standard. Kind of like Derek Carrs NT in 2014.

For me, I would rather had a 9/10 over a 9.5/9. Difference between a 9 and 9.5 visually is not as bad as the difference between auto grade 9 vs 10.

Thanks for the input everyone. Would you recommend a BGS to PSA crossover then, or cracking it from the slab and resubmitting it? Sorry for all the questions, I'm pretty new to grading.

I just got my back today, guessing pop 1 when it comes to 9.5/10

There is no reason to send cards with streaky/bad autos to BGS.

Any card that isn't a sure fire BGS 10 auto grade should be sent to PSA for a straight up PSA 10 grade instead of this BGS 9.5 / 9 auto disgrace.

Who the heck wants to pay a large premium for a BGS 9.5 with a 9 auto grade? Thats gross. Every collector in the world would rather have a PSA 10 all day long.

So in short, cards with anything less than perfect autos should always go to PSA.

Also, BGS grading the autograph is a gimmick and a joke. Its dumb.

This thread got me thinking, I pulled a jersey auto from NT With likely a 10 auto but a white corner. Grade with either company or sell raw?
