Anyone get one of these emails before? Just got one for two items I'm selling.

Reads:

"Drop the Price to Make the Sale

Lower the price by 5% on these items in shoppers' carts, and we'll email them to say their deal got better."

I actually really like this idea. Like a more in-depth version of a watch list.

I got one and did it, but the card didn't sell. D'oh.

raise the price and see what happens. Many times when you have lots of watchers on items raising the price will entice a sale.

I did the 5% lower to see what happens.

Only a $1 difference on one of them that was listed on the high side of a BIN/BO.

That and today is the last day to sell something for the last 8% selling bucks promo.

Other one has multiple watchers and I'll end up raising the price after today anyway since the promo will be up.

When I get a lot of watchers on an item, I'll lower the price to see if it gets anyone motivated... Know how many times that's worked?

ANSWER: ZERO

They buy when they're good and well ready

Agreed that it's usually not a good strategy.

One out of the two sold not even 10 minutes after my last post on here.

Just noticed I have 3 watchers on a card that I had none on this morning; 3 days to go

Bumping it a dollar and let's see what happens :)!

With clothing it works. would estimate that about 70% of the time if I raise the price a few dollars I will get an offer that meets or beats the original price or an outright sale within a couple of days.

With Ebay's algorithm having a lot of watchers on something with no buys can actually hurt your search metrics for that item. So you should do something to turn those watchers.

Have gotten the same with my clothing and I lower and nothing happens. Going to raise the prices back up.

This. I’ve successfully done this before multiple times.
