Once he gets healthy it is a great signing

Great signing for the Pats there. He will most likely be getting a decent contract somewhere else after a year of being thrown to in that offense. It’s a perfect fit for his playstyle.

He’s no Brandin Cooks :)

Hell Yeah.
The couple of Jordan Matthews I have
left will eventually sell cause Patriot fans are
great buyers and then Ill never buy another auto
of him again lol. He's just a really boring
WR to watch in game

It was the Matthews <---> Darby swap right before the season

This is a guy that averaged 75 catches and 6tds+ a season his first 3 years in the league. Great sneaky signing as long as he gets healthy. Will be a good replacement for Amendola (as sad as I am that he is gone).

Dude can make the tough catches, but the easy ones....that is the struggle.

Maybe I’ll be able to sell the superfractor of his I have.

So this is a sneaky good pickup but no other team wanted him until now? Or did he just become available???

The guy with the Superrefractor could make a nice chunk of change.

Low risk/ possibly high reward. I like the signing.
If he can stay healthy he can contribute.
Definitely not a replacement for Cooks. Cooks is one of the fastest and most dangerous receivers in the league. This dude isn't that.
I wouldn't be surprised if Matthews does little to nothing also, but like i said, low risk....

It goes the other way too. Isn't that where lawyer milloy went when the pats released him?....and then buffalo opened up the season by crushing the patriots big?

Damn those Bills! Always beating the lowly Pats.

I agree, this is a low risk signing that could have a tremendous upside.
He might feel hes been given a huge opportunity, and we could see a different gear out of his play.
Bradys ability to jel with his receivers might make Matthews a serious threat, and hes tall and can jump for balls down the sidelines or in the back corners of the end zone.
Or he could be a bust, and we'll drop him after a half season.

@AlbertBreer
Detail in Patriots' deal with WR Jordan Matthews shows the bargain: one-year, $1 million, plus $700K in incentives. Only $170K is guaranteed

Sounds like very low risk for the team but makes you think he's damaged goods.

His stats in the slot are incredible, and mostly with average QBs. If he is healthy and can grasp the playbook, this could be a great signing.

That’s a big IF. Knee and ankle surgery in same year is tough for a WR

In 2 years or less you wont be joking when you say this. :)! And you know that! :p

Low risk...low reward signing. He's a solid receiver and a good depth option, but there's a reason he only got a one year, $1MM deal.
I know he visited Green Bay, and I would've been happy if they'd sign him for this.
