I read the terms and conditions and it didn't answer the following question.

Yes, you can pay whatever way as long as the ebay bucks are showing on the eBay item when you purchase

Thank you very much.

Seems kind of too good to not have some sort of.....catch.

Yeah, honestly I thought it was by invite only.

Kind of stupid of me.

I don't think I ever had more than like $2 in a quarter since I'm not a big spender until the 8% promotion last month. All they are doing is giving back a tiny fraction of the fees they charge.

Tiny fraction? ebay charges 10% Final Value Fees to most sellers. Some bigger volume sellers and power sellers are charged slightly less.

If they are giving 8% ebay bucks away during a promotion, they are giving back, at minimum, 80% of the fees they collected on that sale.

Not giving back anything. Ebay Bucks can only be used on another Ebay purchase so you are actually just making them more fee's by buying more stuff.

I'd rather pay with a credit card. I've heard that the 2% is only good for the amount of money in your paypal account. Could be wrong - could be the PP debit card.

That is incorrect, I never pay with my Paypal balance, I get the 2% from my card plus 1% from Ebay(unless its a special where I get more).

Remember Paypal is no longer owned by Ebay and in a year or so Paypal will no longer be the preferred method of payment on Ebay.

You get them when you use the free shipping supply coupon as well for the full purchase amount.
