I love finding spelling mistakes. Found one today just hours before it ended. The best part about the card? It finished the Chrome portion of my Vance Worley rainbow I'm working on (minus the superfractor of course).

Yup Vance Morley Gold Refractor for $.99 plus $2.20 shipping!!!

2010 Bowman Chrome Draft Vance Morley Rc Gold Ref #/50 - eBay (item 110633305855 end time Jan-10-11 16:09:35 PST) (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rt=nc&nma=true&item=110633305855&si=uV8grGQtaujGbuFLSv8xa6W0VTM%253D&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&autorefresh=true)

Can't wait to update this image when it gets here!

Back in the hype days of Mr Steriod himself, Bonds.... I won a 1986 topps Traded Bonds for under $2. The listing had it as 1988 Topps Traded Barry Bonds. The picture was of an '86, but I was curious to what I'd get in the mail. Sure enough, an '86 arrived! I'd sell it now for the $2 bucks again......

Before Strasburg mania I won a Sweet Spot Silver Auto /12 for the going rate of the regular /260 because he made no mention that it was /12 or anything (apparently didn't know what he had) and no one else apparently noticed what it was either.

Last season when Michael Pineda was tearing up the minors, I won a lot of Bowman Platinum refractors /199 with him in it (along with Almanzar and a few others) for like $3. The seller had mispelled it Pindea.

Unfortunately, it didn't show. Had to use the resolution center to get my money back, too!

I have had a couple of pretty good "oops" finds on eBay. About 10 years ago, before eBay spell check, I found a John Elway/Donovan McNabb dual autograph #/25. I won it for $60 something. The card at the time was selling for over $300. The seller had it listed "John EllwayDonovan McNabb dual autograph". Notice that not only was the Elway spelled wrong, but it was not spaced out from the Donovan. So, unless you were out searching for the famous QB "John McNabb" you wouldn't have found it. :D Of course I got an e-mail from the seller that basically said, there is no way I am selling the card for that amount, you can go ahead and give me a negative.

EDIT: I should have looked on eBay before posting. This was the card (maybe not exact numbering), but it was numbered to 25. It is selling for $275 or BO now.

The other is more of a ebay system "oops". Earlier last year there was some sytem problem with ebay where no one could search for cards. You could however go to the auction if you had been watching it. Well, I got lucky and was watching a Topps Mayo Quad autograph of Frank Gore, Steven Jackson, Adrian Peterson, and LaDanian Tomlinson. I got it for $202.50. I resold it a few weeks later for $550. Most people would have just kept it for getting it at such a great price, but I was happy with the profit. :)!

Yeah, I remember that ebay issue last year. I had a few items on ebay at the time. I cancelled all my sales and put them back on. Ended up getting a few dollars more than what they were at during the issue.

I think I have some John McNabb cards sitting around.

I knew about that Worley 6 hours before it ended. I wasn't sharing it either because I know some collectors that would have outbid me for it.

But you have to let us know after you win it.

So did you leave the guy a negative?

Haha, I knew someone was going to ask that. Sadly, no. I was pretty new to eBay at the time and was trying to keep my feedback at 100%. I was afraid of getting the retaliation negative from him, which sellers obviously cannot do now. Looking back I regret it, considering they were basically saying to give them the negative. Live and learn...

I got an Aroldis Chapman Elite Red Status auto /50 over the summer for like $17 because the guy had it listed in the wrong category and absolutely mangled the spelling. I flipped it a week later for about $70. Joke was on me, however, as about a month later Chapman was called up to the Reds and threw a 103 mph fastball and his cards went nuts.

I've found a lot of good deals, nothing earthshattering, where a baseball card was listed in the football section or visa versa. I won a 2010 Topps Sterling Stan Musial Gold #2/5 for $15 in the football section the other day...thought that was a solid deal.

I once got a Matt Ryan auto for the 2009 Career Best Set I was building for just $15 on a BIN, about 5 minutes after the seller listed it. He then sent me an e-mail saying that he meant to sell it for $105, so if I paid the $90 difference, I'd get the card. I responded by telling him I'd file a claim.

I received the card and the guy tried to guilt trip me via e-mail ("it's super rare!" "it books for $200!").

I would have dealt with the filing. Not like ebay would have done anything about it.
