I bid on this eBay item (https://www.ebay.com/bfl/viewbids/152963312939?item=152963312939&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2565)and was not the winning bidder.
A week later, I see the item relisted (https://www.ebay.com/bfl/viewbids/152978950845?item=152978950845&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2565)and win with a last minute bid.
I pay immediately and receive a notice 20 minutes later that the seller had canceled my order and refunded my money.
I messaged the seller asking if there was a problem with my payment. They responded that "No issue, eBay just automatically relisted this card without my knowledge when it already sold last week."
Well...they might be correct. https://community.ebay.com/t5/Archive-Selling/Sold-items-are-getting-relisted-automatically/td-p/24432452
Anyone ever had this issue when selling? Or had an order cancelled because of this issue?

First one could've be shilled from looking at his other sale.

That type bidding is not always a sign of shill bidding. Some still use the one touch bidding which will increase your bid by he minimum amount. There are also buyers out there who actually do not know how the proxy system works. I was talking to a person at an Estate sale last week, who said what they hate about bidding on Ebay was having to enter bids constantly and was wondering how others bid so fast.
I have had store items get relisted but never seen or heard of an auction doing so, but it could happen. So I would say the first one was possibly shilled and then on the relist it just did not reach what the seller expected it to and now they want out. I would wait and see if it gets relisted again.
Also if it was relisted then from my experience it usually happens right away not several days later like in this case.

His bid histories on the mike trout are strange as well. THat bidder placed the only 3 bids on it the same night the first mauer closed then it also got relisted and another single bidder placed 2 bids on it.

I've actually done it a couple of times. Not necessarily ebay's fault but rather my own. I've ended listings, and created new ones of the ended and forgot to delete the old one and relisted in a bulk relisting.

Not a high volume buyer buying both of the seller's auctions? Possible. Not sure it's likely though. Really no way to know for certain either way.

I have had it happen when I use variations. I've been listing similar cards together recently with four or five per listing, and while the BuyItNow is live, it keeps track of which cards are sold out. However, I cancelled the listings when I went out of town on vacation and restarted them when I returned. The ones that had sold were back available until I manually removed them.
