Not seeing anything other than graded in recent completed listings. What would you value (how much would you pay for) a RAW Target Red Trout at?

Thanks
Kirby

Most ungraded Trout Update cards I have seen that look centered and no corner wear have been going for $200-230.

Let’s just say NM-MT. It’s being offered to me and I’m not in to grading. Waiting on a scan.

OK. I would seriously consider buying it at 3k or less. Think it’s going to be tough to find any solid example for less than that

A psa and bgs 9 have both sold for $3500 in the last 45 days or so. I'd ask for a discount off of that price a little and go from there. That's obviously if the scans look good.

I wouldn’t touch a card of that magnitude ungraded. It’s ungraded for a reason.

2.5 short years ago I hit the BIN for $325 if you needed a comp. Yeah those were the good old days. Sent it to BGS and it got (3)9.5+10.

(Still remember being in the Smart and Final parking lot debating to just hit the BIN or wait for a counter offer to my $300. Noticed there were a few quick pendings building up - so I just hit the bin)

Seriously though, 2016 isn’t that long ago, to think this card is now worth $7k is hilarious.
He was already the best in baseball, MVP etc

Fantastic subs. Do you still have it?

Agreed. Way too much risk. I don't even like spending a few hundred on raw cards, let alone thousands.

So what if its ungraded, there is a price for everything even if its a 8.5 / 8, its still one of the most rare and sought out versions of what is / will be one of the most iconic moderns cards, and quite frankly think the value on these will continue to go up.

Just get the scan and figure out what you think its worth.

I wish. Stupid me thinking 6x ROI was a good flip

Scans aren't exactly failproof. You can get a pretty good idea, but it's not the same as having it graded or viewing it in person.

To each his own, obviously, but I'd rather pay more for a graded card and know what I'm getting, especially if it's a card that valuable/iconic. If you're buying that card as an investment, I think graded will have a much better ROI long-term.

Yes, this is definitely the biggest risk buying something like this ungraded. If card has been altered in some way. Getting an 8.5 is no problem. Altered? Big problem.

Not all collectors get their cards graded. I understand being cautious, but there are plenty of great "ungraded" cards out there.

sure, but sending 3,000 to someone online without being able to see the card before paying for it. risky

Oh I know. I own some raw cards, too. Just saying for me if I was going to spend that much I would prefer graded. I also should have added that I'm terrible at guessing what a card would grade just by viewing a scan. I would probably pay a 9 price and it would grade an 8.

Fantastic flip regardless of current prices. Trout is a long-term hold for me...and I can’t pick up new cards quickly enough. But...offer me 6x ROI and I am a seller all day, every day

I agree 100%. I'd want to see the card first as well. The card can always be returned, if it's bought on Ebay, if the card does not meet its description.
