Hi all....need some advice from you experts.

Buyer bought a lot from me may 29th, 10pm (over $300)

He hasn't paid, even after payment reminder.

Now it's Friday, still no payment and I see his is the high bidder on a lot that is ending in a few hours tonight (over $600)

Both are free shipping, so not trying to combine shipping. I feel something is up...

Do I just cancel his bid or what?

Thanks

Jeff

don't cancel his bid as he would be able to leave you a negative and its only been 2-3 days which isn't unrealistic. I would maybe call ebay to ask them to message the buyer and see whats up with it. frankly I would give it another day or two. theres no real set deadline to pay, as some sellers ask for payment within two days, others 5-7 days. when I put stuff up for sale BIN, I require immediate payment.

I have had one instance of a non paying bidder a long time ago who didn't respond to my messages. after ebay got involved after a week, he paid up with no explanation. I would just sit tight for a few days and see if he pays. then contact ebay to make contact with him. if he does, once the transaction is over, block him.

Also, I forgot to mention that someone just left feedback that he did not pay for a lot as of today.

I would not do anything excpet open the unpaid item case on the first item ASAP. It maybe possible he is just wanting both lots. Although he should have contacted you. Remember Ebay gives buyers a minimum of 6 days to pay for an auction.

I have it automatically for 3 days to pay, which will be right around the time the auction ends.

It's kinda bad timing, because to open a case within the 3 days looks bad on my part right?

If you state 3 days in your auctions then it's not bad. Hell even if you dont state it it's not bad. Ebay allows it after 48 hours. Personally I'd turn it off and give him 1 day after the new one ends. He may be wanting to combine just to save from having to watch for 2 packages. Theres no telling why people do some of the things they do. I will add if he gets another non paying feedback then I'd open the case immediately and cancel the one hes bidding on now.

Because of the eBay bucks specials and random coupons, the buyer could also decide not to pay until a freebie discount comes through. I know plenty of buyers that sit on payment waiting for coupon codes and Bucks.

Maybe he’s trying to save YOU a couple bucks by shipping both together? Maybe send him a message?

With Ebays messaging system lately that isn't a big issue. Sending messages to non-payers sometimes has the opposite effect. Just file it no need to message them.

I would still wait another day or two honestly.

You should really just have the automatic unpaid auction system set up. And you will never have to even think about it.

I do...like I said, it's automatic after 3 days... That will be active right when the auction ends for the second one

Sooooooooo... Update

My auction ended at $700 to a different buyer, and I was relieved...but then noticed the previous item that I am waiting on payment...that user name was changed and it is now the
user of who won this last auction!?

I called eBay about something being fishy and they just said that the user changed his username acting like no big deal and I should give another 24 hrs for him to pay.

Well, to me this sounds and seems pretty shady, especially with $1,000 of 2 items he bought and an instant name change

At the end of the day all you can do is file an unpaid item claim. YOu cannot make him pay. Ebay is not going to do anything until he gets the strikes and even then its doubtful he will. All you can really do is block him.

It is possible he has seen this and that is why he changed his name, If that is the case it is probably in your best interest that he does not pay and you give him the strikes. A nonpayer is better than a paying buyer who is angry because he is forced to pay.

Yeah, i get it that I can't make them pay....but why the hell if you cannot afford one item, bid on something 2x as much as well....but as I have stated.... Haven't accused yet, just speculation, and because of that have not blasted any names, but come a few more days....will let you all know for block list.
