EBAY Etiquette

Just wanted to get everyone's input here regarding EBAY etiquette. I recently sold an item on EBAY where I had a high BIN/BO listed. Long story short, I end up selling the item for just under half my asking price. I knew it wouldn't get close to as much as my BIN/BO going into it. Shortly after the sale I get an inquiry from someone who never sent me a message about the item telling me that they told me they were interested (they didn't) and then questioned why I accepted what I accepted. I replied back telling them if they're interested in my auctions to place a bid. They then got back to me saying they get upset when they inquire about an item (they didn't) and seller acts like they aren't budging from the price. Then close out their message saying "Some advice, next time a Buyer inquires about an item; just be honest & tell them you'd rather not do business with them!"

1. I never received a single message or offer from this person regarding my current listing
2. They have hundreds of positive feedback (100%) yet they jump into my messages to yell at me for something that didn't even happen.

Has anybody had any similar situations? I really have no idea where this is coming from.

I did receive several very odd messages from a completely different EBAYer about the same item before this which makes me start to think that this person might have 2 accounts.

Agreed. Although I do wish COMC had a message system for port sale offers...but that's another topic lol

Easy enough to say sorry you are mistaken. I did not receive any messages from this eBay id.

I like communicating with buyers and sellers.

Ignoring messages doesn't make sense to me unless it becomes clear that is what you need to do with specific communications.

I'd just say sorry I must have missed their messages and had that been the end of it. Even if I knew I didn't receive any from that account. I don't normally have people message me about prices, they just give really low ball offers on the BIN/BO. Even if I counter with a message of the price being my lowest, they still send an just slightly higher price then earlier.

This and Iwill add you need to block them as well. Also please share the id the buyer sounds like an entitled jerk who needs to be added to many BBLs.

I have learned over the years if they ask more than 2 questions they are typically problems waiting to happen.

I've had people message me asking what I've sold cards for. I usually tell them between .01 and 1 million dollars.

Buyer: Hey, can you cancel,this order then delist it as a buy it now please, I want to buy it buy stupid paypal locked my account and it’s still locked! But if you cancel the order, then delist itmas a buy it now I can check it out as a guest check out using my credit card immediately and finally finish this deal! I’m sorry abkut the inconvenience on this, PayPal,still needs a copy of my credit card I have on a file a statement amd I have not made it to the bank yet to even get it, let me knkw if this will work, so what I’m asking you to do is cancel the sale, relist it and I can check out as a guest check out using my credit card, lmk please

Sounds to me like that person had interest in that card, they were not able to acquire it and now they are crying and whining because they did not get their way.

Just like the people who cry about Blackroses prices.

I think it actually worked because I have had 3 random user Id's complain that they can't make offers on my account. 2 of the user ID's were just numbers and letters with no profile and the other said they don't have a linked PayPal.

Could ve the dont have a paypal account block. The issue with that one is it blocks those who do have a paypal account as well in some cases
