I enjoy the "found money" stories of others when they realize they have something they didn't know was worth anything, so here's one of mine if anyone's interested.
I was at the LCS on Monday. You know how it goes....picking up a few supplies and then, "Well, maybe just 1 pack......"
1 pack from an open box of Prestige turned into 3.5 boxes. Was pretty bummed about the autos and parallels; I got a gold 10/10 auto but it was Danny Green. Also 10/10 Gordon Hayward. Others were even more pedestrian.
Fast forward to last night and I stumble onto the odds everyone is declaring for Prestigious rookies, stating that they are case hits. And then I saw the sales by accident....wow. I got 3 of them in my 3.5 boxes, and didn't even remember who they were. I went back and looked: Donovan Mitchell, Lonzo Ball and Jarrett Allen.
I had these in sleeves but only sitting there in my monster box since Monday untouched, thinking they were "whatever" inserts. Are they honestly this rare? The boxes at the LCS didn't come from a sealed case; they were sent to my LCS as loose boxes so if they're that rare I guess that explains it.
Also hit a Mitchell Crystal/199, two other Mitchell Crystal, a Red, a few base and a /399 from one of the Father's Day packs. The others aren't anything huge but the last sale of the /199 also is ridiculous if it's legit.
Consider this a public service announcement to keep an eye on completed listings!!
