I got couple of his rookie cards. Will the price go up or down?

I would assume his cars will always go up like MJ, Brady, Trout and all other greats.

been seeing all the buy it nows today. lots of buys on the bowman chrome. Even a PSA 9/ BGS 9 went for $350 tonight

And as been mentioned before... His Legacy is set. I can't see his RCs dropping anytime soon.

LA fans are hungry for a new superstar to collect. Ever since Kobe retired, they want to find the next superstar. Howard didn't work out. Just look at the Lonzo Ball / Kuzma hype last year... lol.
This is going to get realllllly interesting in the hobby as we approach the next season!

LeBron, MJ, Brady. Okay. Trout? He’s not even close to being in that category. Maybe his cards have remained high but he should probably be on a team to win at least 1 playoff game before he makes the list of GOATs.

The interesting angle is 2019-20.
If the Lakers do nothing major with the roster this year, but add Kawhi Leonard to go along with a 4th year Ingram, 3rd year Ball and Kuzma, and Randle, that team could be tough to beat.
Especially because by then the Warriors may be down Klay Thompson, or at least Iggy.

Major Market Cities like Los Angeles inherently has a way of increasing the demand to the existing supply, so it's always positive and should either go up, or at least have completed sales at FMV rates, as opposed to having these book valued cards priced that never sell and collect dust.

It'll probably still be Cavs uni, Lakers logo. Or maybe a shot of him holding a jersey at a pressure or something. Prizm this year just had logos for many of the guys who changed teams. But who knows?

His cards are fine in any case based on his brand and his legacy. Joining a big market team of this size doesn’t hurt, especially if he manages to win a title with 3 different teams. But it will be a process. The Lakers have a lot of work to do.

His 2014-15 Prizm was the photo shoot day with him in Cleveland. I would imagine it'll be the same this year.

Could be. I just know the PG Prizm this year was just an OKC logo. As we're many others. But I'm sure since its LeBron, they should try to make it a Laker one in some fashion.

City of collectors? Oh, you don't understand. The Lakers are THE world-wide brand in the NBA. They are religion in half of Asia.
In, like, 2015 Houston played an exhibition game in Manilla. Dwight Howard was booed every time he touched the ball the entire game. Keep in mind they get one exhibition game every like 10 years over there, and they used it mercilessly booing a guy.
Because he betrayed the Lakers.

Why in the hell would Lebron Rookies or Autos ever go down? He's literally the Tom Brady of the NBA and when it comes to the safest investment you can ever make of any current player, it's Rookies and Autos in Pro Uni of Lebron.
Just like in the NFL, you want to make a very safe but expensive investment, buy Brady Rookies Graded or Brady Rookie Autos. What about the MLB, buy Mike Trout Rookies and Mike Trout Rookie Autos. What about the NHL, buy Connor McDavid Rookies and Rookie Autos...

Trout cards have done nothing but go up in value and he's the face of the mlb. He's also 26-27 and has the career accomplishments as an individual (in the most individual sport of the 4 major sports).. I think he's definitely on his way to being in that elite company, many would argue he is already. A lot of real baseball fans say he's the greatest player to ever live. I don't necessarily agree with that, but you get what I'm saying

Why would they collect him if he is another Karl Malone? If he wins a championship, his RCs will jump.

If Lebron finishes his career with only three championships, and Durant and Curry have 6-7 championships, then I do believe Lebron's rookie cards will take a hit. People will say that not only did Lebron had fewer championships than Jordan had, but fewer than players from his own generation.
I would love to see Lebron win another Championship with Lakers, but Golden States is just ridiculous after adding DC.

I disagree. Lebron rc cards...or lebron cards in general do not trade on his performance anymore. Or they are not impacted by his performance as much anymore. His cards trade on popularity and demand from quality of cards and rarity when it comes to his early stuff.
He could have a dismal year, and Id bet money that his early UD autos still rise in price.
