View Full Version : Why isn't LeBron getting heat for joining the Lakers like KD got joining GSW?

GeechQuest

Durant joined the Warriors after blowing a 3-1 lead to them in the Western Conference Finals and after the Warriors blew a 3-1 lead in the NBA Finals

LeBron joined the Lakers after they won the Summer League title.

What's with the double standard?

GSW were "Championship Team".
Lakers are not.

That is all.

KD Wanted a championship... LeBron dosent want to go to the NBA Finals this season apparently. I'm sure he has his reasons.

GSW was a 73-9 team before KD arrived.
Lakers were a 30 and something team, so he's not joining a stacked team. Still hate the move though to be fair!

Warriors had Curry, Green, Klay, a championship under their belts, and coming off a 73 win season.

The Lakers have Lonzo, Kuzma, Ingram with zero playoff experience, coming off a 35 win season, making it a fifth consecutive season with a losing record.

Huge difference between the two.

Edit: Now I read the first post, you gosh darn donkey!

Given the thread title, I was not expecting this.

If lebron joined GSW, the team that beat him in the finals then he WILL get heat!! Its that simple.

Durant was a coward for joining GSW AFTER he blew a 3-1 lead as a Thunder AND he was a big reason they blew it!!!

Lebron is not in his prime anymore & more importantly...he is joining a lottery team.

Yeah...NBA players are not in there prime at 33 years old. It's why he now has a negative defensive RPM. He plays one side of the ball, he used to be an All defensive player as well as being an elite offensive guy. Is this really debatable...lol.

On one side of the ball.

Yah he also played, what every game almost the entire game? Pretty sure it's hard to play both sides when having to play the entire game with a 2-3min break?

Probably because it was expected.

LeBron knows the Lakers will do whatever it takes to build around him. Their young talent is also pretty exciting.

He avgd less mins than last year. He played 36.mins per game.. plenty of rest so I'm sure he could play a bit of defense here and there.

He avg 36.9 MPG....that is below his career avg. He has been declining on that end for a while. Happens to them all.

B/C LBJ went to LA with family consideration and KD didn't?
Also LA is a team that missed playoff not like GS being a Championship team?

Lerbon to a crappy Laker team. When Lebron had his press conference after losing the finals, he specifically said he has to factor in "his family" on where they want to go. Obviously moving to LA benefits his wife (shopping) his kids (school) and himself marketing and what not. If he wins a ring there I think it'll be just a bonus for him. @$38.5 million a year? I could imagine what I'd do with that kind da money in the state of California. Damn!

KD went to the very team that beat his team (OKC) in the playoffs. That's the ultimately the weakest move you can make as a player.

Because it's better for a player to change teams in order to be closer to Hollywood to better prepare for the next chapter in his life rather than changing teams to win. For Lebron and/or Laker fans. Is it vital that LeBron bring a Championship to LA? How will fans of LeBron as well as fans of the Lakers view him if he does not deliver? How does this taint his legacy playing for a 3rd team?

Name 5 players in 2018 that are better than Lebron James......(who's 33). Don't give me typical NE biased hate against the guy...give me stats. 3....2....1......go! :)!
